Game Thread For the Natty vs ND, “One More, Then Forever”, Jan. 20th, 34-23 Buckeyes!

My son is 14 now and has followed in my footsteps when it comes to being a Buckeyes and Bengals fan.

He never sat through a whole game until the kick that went nowhere against UGA and the Bengals SB loss to the Rams. I told him to remember the feeling during those moments because it will make big wins mean so much more.

He sat with me the entire Texas game and it was by far one of my best experiences in life.

Last night he asked me if it is normal to feel nervous and have butterflies in your stomach before the game starts.

After that win I said now you know why I told you to remember those losses and I welcomed him to becoming a full member of Buckeye Nation.

O-H!
I-O!

I work in an office full of Husker fans/grads. Lot of people stopping by to congratulate and thank for winning another for the B1G...Me:

My son is almost 16, and has just recently gotten into football. He's always semi-watched with me, but I think his interest has really taken off this whole season. He watched all of each of the playoff games.
Some buddies and I started going out every Monday to watch football many years ago. Recently, we continued it even outside of football season. When Ohio State beat Texas, we discussed if we want to go out to watch it at the bar. I said I was going to stay home to watch with my son. "Bring him to the bar with you," they said. I thought about it, and figured it would be a good memory for him. So he came with us last night.
Easily the best MNF I've ever had was last night.

I know it's important to be grateful and to look more ahead than forward. That said, I can't help but feel what potential was lost on this 5 year run.

- Lost the Natty in 20'
- A missed field goal away from winning one in '22

At minimum, that would have been banners for 2 of the last 3 and playing in 3 title games the last 5 years. That's some high level consistency.

nearly the same story here (Steelers instead of Bengals) - he is also 14, last night he was so excited, there was lots of yelling, swearing, ect - it was great. Its great to be able to share this with him - he's been texting me pictures and shit all day today. Last night after the clock hit zero, I ordered him the Ohio Against the World flag - I can't wait to surprise him with it!

Honestly I feel like that we were simply overmatched that '20 game. Fields was playing hurt from a dirty play which really impacted his play.

No disrespect to Tuf Borland he was a very good player for us but when I saw him trying to cover up Smith I knew it was over.

Now that '22 game is a different story. MVP of that game was the dude who head hunted MHJ with no penalty. I still feel like that was completely rigged in Georgia's favor. Because even with MHJ out of the game, we would have scored a TD with that penalty and likely sealed it.

Then we would have smashed TCU to win it all.
