Football, Futbol, Soccer, etc. (Official Thread)

Well, yeah the possession over time causes so much congestion you would like to see them A. Have more aggression early then use the possession with the lead, and B. Play wider when they're controlling 3/4 of the field. I know that sounds weird but they need someone (or tactically) to become an aerial presence when the ball comes in... (And so they actually play it in)

Its hard to explain but the point is, they cant divert anyone's eyes right now. They get out to the wing 25 yards out and have 9-10 sets of eyes on the ball. You can beat 4-5 guys with the cross, but you need 2-3 more scared of the redirect... That frees up the back

To be fair, as much as Neymar may embelish, the guy actually takes a legit beating every game. Not a lot to do but hack/foul him.

I’ve been there and it’s exhausting.
…and again.

You get the ball, turn and beat a couple guys then get chopped down. And you’re left picking grass out of your mouth, fixing your shin guards and picking yourself up 20x a game.

things getting chippy as expected. Brasil needs one.

Whether it makes a difference or not, I think england will come out for 15-20 understanding the need to control their destiny.

The other guys may too.

I mean Italy is on the board in 06, which aint '66, but... Generations come and they go.

All of which is to say les azzurri has plenty to lay it out for, and the have so far

If the lions don't... There's no excuse.

Happy for Messi. Never been his biggest fan, but I can at least appreciate how great of a player he truly is. He didn’t need an international trophy to solidify himself as one of the greatest of all time, but he did it anyway.

And an absolute shitshow to cap the night off. College Football season gives us PAC after dark, well now we have CONCACAF after dark this month.

What a disaster of a start to that tournament…was like a rec league team with a ringer goalie playing against the varsity and holding them goalless…the play was crap, the pace was crap, the commentary was crap…it was all crap

Mexican fans were pretty embarrassing using the same chant they’ve been warned about multiple times the last few months, and having THREE warnings about it tonight. At what point does CONCACAF actually punish them for this? The previous “punishments” clearly haven’t had the desired effect.
