Florida's been around since 1990 or longer

What have they done since Meyer's been there? Get a bull[censored] win in the Outback Bowl over Iowa in '05, win two national titles, lose to a terrible Michigan team in '07, blow out and keep starters in all game against an OVERRATED cincy team, and beat 4 D1AA schools, 1 Mountain West, 5 Sun Belt, 2 CUSA, and 1 WAC team? Sure the titles are nice but lets face it he has it pretty easy when it comes to competition.

Sucks to be them.

Seriously though, were you around for the John Cooper era? Two national titles would've been pretty damn nice. Hell, winning the goddamn Outback Bowl would've been nice. That's the only way I can think of any Buckeye fan thinking so little of that list you rattled off.

FWIW, I wouldn't trade what Ohio State did this decade for what Florida did, even though they have an extra crystal ball to show for it. The Gators' accomplishments should not be so easily dismissed though.

I agree with the earlier, unquoted, portion of your post. But why would you call for Notre Dame to be credited for doing something that naturally, really inevitably, comes with the territory of being an independent? If you're affiliated with a conference, you're obviously going to play mostly regional opponents. If you're unaffiliated, you can (and virtually must) play opponents from all over the country. What matters is the average caliber of your opponents. Notre Dame's okay in this regard, but nothing that merits particular credit.

In recent history they've had a home and home series with Tennessee, Nebraska, and Texas. In the past they've played Miami (a series they ended when Schellenberger took over, got the thugs off the streets and into Miami) and Florida State. Boston College has been one of the stronger ACC teams and is now a staple on their sked -- that's certainly a cut above Indiana and Northwestern on the OSU sked and on a parr with Michigan State or Minniesota. Stanford and Washington can be up one year and down the next five, but the same could be said about Illinois and Purdue. Pitt is an unknown from year to year, but mostly not much. Hey, I'm not an ND backer by any stretch of the imagination, but they play three of the better Big 10 programs every year -- on/off with Penn State + USC. There are weaker schedules out there.

Oh come on.

I refuse to call a team a bunch of cowards after doing what they've done over the course of Meyer's career there. They've more than proven that they can play with and beat anyone.
Boom, just pinpointed where this whole thread spun out of control, my original intent of pointing out that list of cupcakes florida plays was to build on the sentiment that they have only been around since 1990 and to expand on what computerji pointed out about florida's scheduling choices.

3074326 got upset because I called florida cowards and he referenced Meyer's career as anything but cowardly, while he's got a point, and as I had previously acknowledged that the two titles are nice and all, I also agree with what jlb said in that I wouldn't trade what Ohio State did this decade for what Florida did either, even though they won an extra title.

Additionally, I had no original intent of stating that meyer is a coward, I was talking about the florida football team as a whole, that's why I referenced their cupcake schedules back to 1980 instead of focusing solely on meyer's career. It just so happens that florida still schedules like cowards when it comes to out of conference games.

Lastly, when I openly attacked meyer's career in that one post, I was simply trying to point out that yes he has won two national titles, thats fantastic and everything, I acknowledged that, but let's not forget if Iowa didn't get screwed over in the '05 Outback bowl, meyer would have a 3-2 bowl record instead of a 4-1 record alongside a host of victories against coastal carolina and what not. Still good, but nothing to cream the pants over like so many of you want to do. Again, let's see what meyer can do post-tebow and if he can rival what miami(fl) did in the '80s and what nebraska/florida state did in the '90s.

But, whatever I still hate florida and the entire sec, if that makes me sound like a michigan fan, I have absolutely no idea why that would be true, then I guess that's your own diluted or is it delirious mindset? Maybe both.

Ignoring all facts contrary to your argument - an argument that is based on emotion (:sob: I hate the SEC :sob:) .. sounds very much like a delusional M*ch*g*n fan grasping for straws, IMHO.

I don't ever remember crying in any of my arguments, or even ignoring facts contrary to my argument. Just because I hate them doesn't mean I cry when they win, two completely different things.

Seems less of an argument, more of an opinion. I don't give a shit if TSUN was undefeated for thirty straight years, I'd still disrespect the Ned out of them.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is, you're embarassing me as a Buckeye fan with your stupidity.

I'm not going to spend the time or the energy to go back through your posts to find where you dismiss 2 National Titles and 4 total from the SEC in the last 10 years because you "hate them."

C'mon man.. fuck no. Mike Hart is a fag and Desmond is a douche.

But I do respect the program as a whole.. in '06 when it was #1 v. #2 - IMHO, is how it should be every single year.

I respect Bo and the 10 year war - script Ohio and golden pants.

I respect individuals associated with TSUN, but not the program as a whole. That would force me to respect the fans and DickRod. Fuck that.
