They seem to have that air of entitlement that makes you sick. We'll see how they do post-tebow.

Most wins since 1990.

1 Florida 202
2 Florida State 194
3 Ohio State 193
4 Nebraska 192
5t Miami-Florida 184
5t Texas 184
7 Tennessee 182
8 Virginia Tech 176
9t Michigan 174
9t Penn State 174

It's not like we never won a game before he came. And, yes, 1990 is an arbitrary date, but all due respect to your much more storied program historically, twenty frickin' years is not "flash-in-the-pan" status to the kids who commit in February - it is their whole lives!!

Huh......only 2 SEC teams :!

I like our chances with Louis, I think he actually committed already?

Interesting that you went by wins over winning % as the later would place the Buckeyes #2 ahead of FSU.

Just throwing out a stat. One is not any more important than the other, and I am not saying wins over % to try to get over on the Buckeyes. It was a stat that was handy as it is a thead on a Gator board I am looking at. Really, all I am responding to is the "let's see how they do w/o Tebow" thing. We'll do fine, if the future tracks the past. Here is the same thing from 1980, a 30 year run:

Since 1980
1. 295 Nebraska
2. 283 Miami
3. 282 Florida St
4. 278 Florida
5. 275 Ohio St
T-10. 259 Georgia/Tennessee
14. 247 Alabama
15. 246 Auburn

All I am saying is that despite what some like to say about UF being essentially a glorified Boise State, we've been among the top ten teams of the last several decades under anyone's statistical analysis.

What about the statistical standing of UF football during my lifetime...since 1949?

Just curious... because both the Buckeyes and Florida have been playing football for far more than 30 years. How would you define football tradition at UF? Does it compare favorably with tOSU? :oh::io:

You guys didn't have to forfeit any wins from the NCAA sanctions in the 80's?

I think Gators point stands. UF is no flash in the pan anymore, so they'll likely be just fine without Tebow.

Um, I never brought up any such words. I just said I was irritated by the sense of entitlement many UF fans and journalists have towards recruits. The atmosphere on UF boards is mirroring what was going on on USC boards for many, many years prior to being humiliated a number of times this year.

Interesting that the numbers shown here have the Buckeyes winning 6 more games in the '80s than the Gators did. And if someone made me rank the decades of my lifetime, OSU football wise, the 80s would be at the bottom by a big margin.

So while Florida has clearly been relevant for long enough that this discussion is a bit silly; their run has clearly been a 2 decade thing. They were OK before that, but only OK (worse than OSU during a bad decade for OSU). The past twenty years is enough to carry the previous decade when you average them together, but that doesn't mean that the previous decade (80s) was part of the run.

I ran the numbers from 1990-99 and from 2000-09 and only two teams are on both lists for games won.

Florida 3rd in the 90's and 6th in the 00's
OSU 9th in the 90's and 4th in the 00's

Same thing with win %

Florida 3rd with 82% in the 90's and 76.9% (6th) in 00's
OSU 9th (75.2) in the 90's and 80.3% (4th) in the 00's

Interesting how I thought Florida had a great decade this time around (2000-09) but the numbers were actually better in the 90's.....

Sure they will be fine, considering that the great Tebow lead his team to zero undefeated seasons. And remember, their first NC during Tebow's run, Tebow wasn't the starter. They win that with or without him. So, it's not as if he had this dramatic difference in Florida's record. He was a great QB, but lead his team to no great feats.

Going by your analysis, UF should do better now that Tebow's gone.

To really improve though, following the same logic, according to the before and after stats, they would probably have to get rid of Meyer.

Uh huh. I see right through your clear "Sunshine State" agenda.

Besides if Florida played in a real conference they wouldn't have such gaudy win numbers.

Yeah? Well Muck, since you take that attitude, and basically are calling me out as a liar, you can blow....

...out your birthday candles and make a wish that Urban really does resign. :p
