2024 FL WR Joshisa Trader (Miami, FL. Verbal)

Pnuts, heartily agree with your thoughts. Yeah, I know that other top programs have done/do counsel kids out of the program, some more than others (Bama, Colorado), heck any coach taking over a program weeds out those kids not meeting expectations. And do try to keep tabs on those kids that xfer/portal out of tOSU programs (football, MBB, WBB). And appreciate the few stories that chronicle how these transfers are doing at their new homes. Still argue that tOSU had the #10, #11, and #12 in two year ago NFL draft, including the kid that transferred to Bama. Go Bucks!

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep wide receiver Joshisa Trader told 247Sports that Ohio State and Brian Hartline have done the best job recruiting him. Miami and Florida State are also factors, but it could be shaping up to be another banner year for Ohio State at the wide receiver position.

What if I told you that OSU could lose McClellan or Moore… But land Jojo Trader

Believe I'd rather have a great-to-be OL than another fantastic WR (in the same class as the other fantastic receivers). Liking the OT Baker reviews, but not entirely certain that tOSU can/will pony up the NIL money that's going to be needed to seal this deal.

Not surprised really, thought Miami would land him deep down even though pairing him with JJ Smith would have been awesome. NIL was probably a factor but I think he is also a Florida kid wanting to stay home and is a better personality fit with the U. Nonetheless, not concerned with the talent we have stacked up at WR.

I think NIL had more to do with the timing than the ultimate destination. I’m guessing there was an incentive thrown out for announcing the commitment now.

The timing of this seems unexpected

Betting that Trader may have wanted to get out of the shadow of Smith....plus Miami's fabled pot of NIL money... also think of Milton, "it's better to be first in hell rather than second in heaven". Analogous in football etc as well. Well known is the stable of WR talent that Hartline keeps amassing, and is almost a guaranteed one/two years on the bench before getting significant time on the field. Never really know what's in a kid's mind, or what advice 'uncle' is giving them. Hope he does well, and would like to see a Miami/tOSU matchup sometime in the next four years. The new playoff format could provide that sooner than later, we'll see. Do always wonder how the 'drifting apart' works in recruiting. An offhand comment by one or the other participants could trigger, or a 'yeah, they're offering me x NIL $' puts tOSU out of the running, or decides that kind of cash could be better spent elsewhere... Anyway, we're set at WR, so move on to the DL, LB, DB arenas for the next commits. Go Bucks!
