WR Carnell Tate (Official Thread)

Tate is very active on Twitter enjoying all of these breakout performances by OSU.

I am loving it, all the WRs that stayed patient behind Olave and Wilson got fed last night and that has to send a huge message to our commits. Stay the course and be the next man up. I think Tate is that man down the road.

Well to be fair, the WRs who played last night only had to wait 1-2yrs, Lol...
We almost have to hope for the WRs to be 3 and done to keep the talent flowing through and content with playing time. So by the time Tate hits campus should be the last year for MHjr and Egbuka(Ballard may still need another year)

For the divas that WR's are known for being, I wish other position groups had the same mindset. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that 2, 3 or 4 of them could potentially be on the field at the same time. Lots of touches to go around, especially in this offense.

Gotta give credit to the players obviously, but it's pretty amazing how Hartline and Day are tempering any potential egos and keeping everyone happy. If you're a top recruit at WR right now, there should be zero concern on depth with all the guys we've had recently play immediately and thrive. Everyone eats, come on down Mr. Tate.

Coach Harline is having an incredible run as WR coach. Don't believe I've ever seen consecutive #1 WR recruits stand in line for one team like he has had. That string/streak came to an end this year, as (don't believe) that tOSU didn't get but the #5 WR to commit to the Buckeyes. Agree with the above that: a) WRs are prima donnas; b) with all the new QB talent out there, they're looking at depth chart to see how early to get on the field. Hopefully - c) these WRs are also thinking that what tOSU depth has done is to get better so that WHEN they get on the field, they'll excel. Have to believe that they see what Hartline has done to make them better, and that if/when these recruits take trips, the current crop of WRs are telling them what impact Hartline's coaching has had........Go Bucks! Right now, Hartline is having the same impact that Coach Johnson has had on the DL guys. Methinks his impending retirement is what's kept the elite from coming here (discounting the A&M NIL rumors of big cash).......Anyways, Go Bucks!

In mid August one of the Buckeyes' very top of the board targets, wide receiver Carnell Tate from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG, announced his commitment date. Tate said he would announce his college choice on Oct. 8.

However, Tate later postponed his decision and his recruitment has continued. He recently told 247Sports Midwest recruiting analyst Allen Trieu that he will look to make his commitment around the summer, but could wait until the All-American Bowl in early January if he is not certain where he wants to go.

There has long been no doubt about Tate’s strong interest in Ohio State. He has been to Ohio State multiple times and is scheduled to be back in Columbus April 1-3. Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline as well as Ryan Day and Keenan Bailey have done a great job of recruiting Tate, and Tate has told Bucknuts the Buckeyes are one of his top choices. Also, both Crystal Ball predictions for Tate are in favor of the Buckeyes at this point.

In my feature “If I had to predict right now…” I have said my prediction for Tate would be Ohio State.

With all that in mind it is no surprise that Tate has included Ohio State in his Top 5. Tate dropped a Final 5 of Ohio State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia on his Twitter account this evening.
