Lyons is simply a playmaker & very savvy at the safety position... Could possibly grow into an OLB... Plays a lot around the line of scrimmage for his HS team...

Came away from his first meeting with the FSU staffed impressed by their knowledge of the game & their ability to make people feel comfortable... Was accompanied on the trip by "his boy" Aquinas OT Bobby Hart... If they end up picking the same school, that'd be great since they're already good friends... Still planning a trip for the OSU Spring game w/ Cash... Plans to take all 5 OVs before deciding...

By The Bank...Lyon's mom talks about her son and the recruiting process...says she's never had to push him when it comes to academics...she says she wants to make sure her son can major in engineering while playing football and has even come up with her own questionnaire that she has coaches complete...talks about why you can't assume Florida is the best fit and says she is sending her son to visit OSU in April because she did not want him to wait for an official to see Columbus.

Hard not to like this woman...reminds me of Eartha Berry and how she handled Jaamal's recruitment prior to his committing to OSU. Great picture of Wayne and his mom included in the article...

With a mom like that, Tressel's approach ought to carry some weight. It is very clear to anyone that meets him he cares about developing the young men who come through his program in all aspects of life.

He the kinda OOS kid we usally pull from South. Guys who aren't so dead set on playing in the SEC....

Wayne and his mom are reviewing recruiting questions that he and his mom sent out to the schools that had offered by March 1. He will send out the questions to the new schools that have offered since then as well. He is hoping to cut the list down by the first of the summer in June. They are going to schedule additional visits once the list is narrowed down. All of the schools will have a chance to make their pitch during spring ball, and once they are allowed to call him. Any schools not wishing to return the questions will be eliminated from consideration.

Lyons talks UF offer, future plans

Thus far Lyons has visited Florida State, Florida, Miami, South Florida and Maryland since January and will visit Ohio State next month for their Spring Game. Lyons missed many spring games because he went to Washington, DC for a 6-day Leadership Conference March 23-28.

"I love it because it's really an honor and academics and leadership is big for me and I get to see a bunch of the capitals and monuments and that stuff." Said Lyons.
