FL DB Wayne Lyons (Stanford Signee)

It would be yet another coup by the coaching staff to get a kid like this out of Florida.

Definitely. With as loaded as the state of Ohio looks for '11, any big time talent we can get out of state (especially somewhere like Florida) would just be icing on the cake. To make a random analogy, stealing a few big time guys from outside the border would be like Bill Gates winning the lottery. He's already gonna have all he needs, but still manages to win some more.

Attending the FSU junior day on 2/20 & likes how close they are... Spoken to the coaches a lot & feels he could get early playing time there... His current GPA is 4.75 and he's 1st in his class... His interest in Florida has slipped because they are yet to offer... No leaders or time frame discussed...

Lyons broke the news of his Southern Cal offer himself via his blog & several social networking sites... Kiffin had offered him at Tennessee & he's really happy to get offered by him again at USC... Distance won't be a factor because his Mom plans to move to wherever he ends up... No leaders or time table provided...

4 star Lyons is the complete package
By Jesse McCormack

In one of my previous articles, I spoke on how Bobby Hart was not your average teenager. Well, fellow Floridian Wayne Lyons is not your average football recruit. In fact, nothing about him is average.

While most recruits can hardly find any free time to hang with their friends, a lot of times you?ll find Wayne Lyons mentoring a young middle school group, or writing an entry for his own blog, or just studying for a math test.

Lyons, who boasts an impressive 4.8 GPA and is dual-enrolled at a local college, says that managing school work and athletics has just come naturally to him.

Scout $ - Lyons Reeling in Offers
Allen Wallace of SuperPrep.com, Feb 16, 2010

Still wide open with no leader or time table... Likes Stanford for the academics, weather, & they were first to offer... Offers from USC, Notre Dame, & Tennessee were from the previous staffs & he's awaiting contact from the new ones... A lot of his family likes FSU & he likes the proximity... Grew up a Gator fan & his sister is a current cheerleader there but they haven't offered yet...
