Fishing (Official Thread)

Its Dutchman now (I don't know what it was prior). And its an awesome shop.
Now that I remembered, that's not the place. Harry & Dot's was the small building on the northeast corner. Apparently, it was once the schoolhouse for that area a century ago.

The story and pic https://m.facebook.com/sharer.php?fs=5&sid=206694893020859&__tn__=J*W-R. It's the building on the right. Here it is today. https://earth.google.com/web/@40.10...data=CgAiGgoWSUZZUEpUa09zNEVuUlJsaXYybU1GZxAC

Well, there you go.

At any rate, the Old Dutchman carries on the tradition of hoover reservoir bait and tackle shops of excellence.

I can confirm that both Walmart and Meijer have some live worms, so thanks all for that.
Also, I stopped by Petland out of curiosity, and they had 6 types of live worms on hand, from little wax worms to big red wigglers.

Oh, there's a whole world of live bait at petland....

I mean, this never works... but tape a treble hook to a live one... you're in business.

People there still use Hula Poppers? Always did best with large mouth bass and pike with that. Great on ponds. My best ever day was trout fishing in Yellowstone, after nothing worked, then pulling in a trout every five minutes for two hours with a Hula Popper.

I'm pretty sure you can't call yourself a bass fisherman without one. (I don't call myself that, but I have a couple). Lures are for fisherman, not the fish. The old stuff worked then, it works now. Lazy ikes, Daredevils... I have a zillion balsa rapalas. They are great prospecting lures if nothing else.

Hook, sinker, minnow. Still a winning combination.

Yellowstone. Hula Poppers. :banger: Assuming it was the lake for one of the non-native trout species? (Sorry. Elitist prick fly fisherman:cheers:)
