Fire anyone without NCs, except for Pearl, he's swell

How is it that Matta doesn't compare to Izzo? I'm not doing the research for you this time. Show me a side by side comparison that supports your position. Otherwise, shut the fuck up.... or at least make good on your ... what...threat? Promise? to take you tired schtick to some other board.

I was bored, so I did Holydouchebag10's homework for him, and this is how it breaks down:

Tom Izzo

1 NCAA Championship
2 Championship appearances
6 Final Fours
7 Elite Eights
12 Sweet Sixteens
17 NCAA Tournament appearances
7 B1G Championships
4 B1G Tourney Championships

1 National Coach of the Year
3 B1G Coach of the Year

14 20+ win seasons
3 30+ win seasons

467-186 (.715) in 19 years of coaching

Not too shabby.

And for comparison:

Thad Matta

1 NIT Championship
1 NCAA Championship appearance
2 Final Fours
4 Elite Eights
6 Sweet Sixteens
12 NCAA Tournament appearances
5 B1G Championships
4 B1G Tourney Championshps
2 A10 Championshps
2 A10 Tourney Championships
1 Horizon Championships
1 Horizon Tourney Champinships

1 Horizon League Coach of the Year
1 A10 Coach of the Year
2 B1G Coach of the Year

14 20+ win seasons
3 30+ win seasons

377-114 (.768) in 14 years of coaching

You can take any 10 or 14 year period of Izzo's career, and he has not had as much consistent success as Matta. Very few coaches have, I would think. Keep in mind Matta's first season at OSU the team was ineligible for the postseason and had gone 20-12. Minus 1 NCOY award and a NC, Matta's resume is as easily impressive as Izzo's. In 5 more years, there is a good chance it will look as good or better. There is no one better to replace Matta with right now, maybe ever. To believe otherwise simply makes you a fool. But go ahead and keep on beating that drum douchbag. I find people that insist on making themselves look like morons mildly amusing.

Also, lets keep in mind that Izzo is widely considered one of the best coaches in B1G basketball history. And deservedly so. To blindly feel that tOSU basketball, which was at best a middling program for the 35+ years prior to his arrival deserves/needs exactly that is the definition of an "entitled fan." tOSU is a football school. It always will be. Football will always be more popular than basketball in the state of Ohio. The fact that Matta has made the basketball program at a football school nationally relevant on a near yearly basis is a remarkable achievement. If anybody would have shown me, or any tOSU fan, his 10-year resume the day he was hired, we would have all been ecstatic. This just shows that there's a segment of this fanbase that can never be happy.

That's not even taking into account that some of Izzo's best seasons came while tOSU was down. You know, before Thad started winning at a football school.
On top of that, today's B1G is considered maybe the best conference top-to-bottom in the country. Has been for a few years. In the mid-90s to mid-00s it wasn't nearly as formidable top-to-bottom.

Izzo adds another elite 8, very impressive turnaround seeing as how the season was earlier for MSU. I really hate to do it bc I hate scUM, but hats off to John Bielein, pretty impressive going as far as he did w/o McGary, and seeing how much better Stauskas and LeVert improved under him. Lost to Calipari and his young/ talented team who really has managed to grow up and produce really well as a team. Sucks having to watch 3 other Big Ten teams go as far as the Elite 8 and Wisky to be in the Final 4... wish that were OSU still dancin'

So Izzo (age 59), Beilein (61), and Calipari (douche) are doing well this tournament and they all are not going to be coming to OSU. Any ideas on who should replace Thad or which assistants need to be dropped? Yes, Beilein did a great job without McGary but the other two teams were the top two teams preseason so the talent is there. You bring up the well being of other teams but no answer to what can help OSU. So either enlighten us with answers or email Gene Smith.

What does this have to do with Thad? I made zero mention of Thad in my post there sir.
Since you brought up preseason meaningless rankings thought OSU was ranked 11th preseason.

You posted in the fire Thad thread, moron.
He knows where he is, he just can't decide which troll hat to wear each time :

1) loony rant hat
2) martyr hat
3) hole digging hat
4) defense counselor hat
5) snob hat
6) defibrillator hat
7) Naive calamity hat

I am partial to #3. I still bust out laughing at those suggestions to replace Thad.

Firing Matta would be the equivalent of Minnesota firing Glen Mason in my opinion. The only difference being that Ohio State's sense of "elite" is impacted by the football program; I'm not really sure what the hell made Minnesota think they weren't reaching their potential.
