Game Thread FIESTA BOWL: tOSU 21, Texas 24 (01-05-09)

Go Buckeyes

It's 8:30 and breakfest is finished, now what do I do for the rest of the day. I wrap my kids up in Buckeye gear, playing on the radio the fight song and cheer, cheer, cheer. But wait my heart is troubled, after today I go into a bubble. Nine Months of nothing to do but wish I could watch my beloved Silver Bullets crush someone in blue. Oh how I hate this feeling but all I can do is keep on thinking, What will happen tonight, will we win or lose, I don't know but all I can say is better drink some booze. To our Buckeye's that we love so dearly, your fans are here rooting for you so loud and clearly. Hit them as hard as you can and give everything you have, leave nothing on the field. You will become victorious, you will show the nation that you are ferocious, and lead your team to the game of 2009. Go Buckeyes, fight, kick some bevo butt and GOD BLESS THE BUCKEYES!!!!!

I was content with a loss and frankly, expecting it. Lets be honest - these guys haven't really shown us any reason to believe THIS will be the time they can take on a team that is as good or better than they are.

Then I saw Barry Switzer's "analysis" of the game: "THEM BUCKEYERS ARE GUNNA GET GORRRED I TELL YA HOOOBOYHOWDY THEREGONNASTICKEMTHEREWITHTHEIRHORNSNGRINDEMOUTINTHEGROUNDLIKADUSTYOUKNOWBOYHOOOOOOOO!"

Now I hope we win by a million.

It is time to keep the faith and call upon the traditions and powers of every player and every fan from time immemorial to come forth and use their passions and intensities to cheer Our Buckeyes onto victory.
This will be a hard fought ball game that I am sure that each and everyone wants to win.
With that in mind we need post only the most positive exhortations from now until we emerge victorius tonight.
In other words if you feel queazy, or lacking in faith in our beloved Bucks to do the job keep it to yourself.
Thank you.

Best Buckeye: And if these are your fans, why do they worry?
Worried Buckeye Fan #1: We didn't come here to play them!
Worried Buckeye Fan #2: The Longhorns are too strong!
Best Buckeye: Sons of Ohio! I am Best Buckeye.
Worried Buckeye Fan #2: Best Buckeye is seven feet tall!
Best Buckeye: Yes, I've heard. Beats teams by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the Longhorns with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.
[Buckeye fans laugh]
Best Buckeye: I AM Best Buckeye! And I see a whole army of fans of my countrymen, here to battle the team from Texas. You've come to fight as free men... and free men you are. What will you do with that freedom? Will you fight?
Worried Buckeye Fan #1: Fight? Against that? No! We will run. And we will live.
Best Buckeye: Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may win this game, but they'll never take... OUR SPIRIT!
[Buckeye fans cheer]
Best Buckeye: O-H!
Buckeye Fans: I-O!

It's gameday, finally!
Time to get PUMPED up, I have a great feeling about this one, the S&G will prevail. It's sad to think our seniors will be playing their last game as a Buckeye, hopefully they go out kicking some ass
Even though I won't be in Glendale in person, I will be there in spirit, and I'll do my best to make sure the Bucks hear me cheering them on all the way from Northern KY!

Go Bucks!

Good Luck from Dawg Land!

BP'ers,

Good morning and happy new year! I've been gone for the better part of the previous week enjoying Chicago and the NHL Winter classic (more on this in other threads).

This simple post is just to extend some friendly well wishes for your game tonight. There is no point of analysis I can make that hasn't already been made in earlier threads - so just go out there and get it done.

Good luck to you and safe travels to those of you who made the trip.

Go Buckeyes - Go Dawgs!

Having not read anything about the rule switch or its implimentation - I was a little baffled in the first period. It probably extended the game with a quicker whistle but the refs picked up on it quickly and managed it with little confusion.

Both teams didn't seem to mind it much. It's probably a non-issue to them.

I loved the Blackhawks jerseys.
