Game Thread FIESTA BOWL: tOSU 21, Texas 24 (01-05-09)

Anyone know the announcers for this game? After covering the first two tOSU - Texas games, Brent Musberger would have a field day with the "This will be the tiebreaker all the Nation wanted to see ", and another 3 1/2 hrs of the Colt and Shipley roomate comments that have provided much fodder for opposing teams message boards.

Is anyone on your team an amateur boxer?
If so, for Pete's sake, PLEASE don't let Musberger know about it!!!

From the CPD article grad posted:

Two years ago, Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith's obsession with local fast-food chain In-N-Out Burger was one of the story lines before Ohio State's blowout loss to Florida. A company vice president even called Smith a "very observant and excellent food critic." The story didn't seem so cute after Smith looked slow and the Buckeyes looked lost against the Gators.

So In-N-Out may be out of vogue for the Buckeyes on this trip.

"We've got to stay away from them," OSU linebacker Marcus Freeman said before leaving for Arizona. "They put extra calories on you that might slow you down versus this offense.

"I tried it once, I think it was two years ago, and it's addicting but you've got to stop before you get addicted to it because that'll put some weight on you, put some grease in your body you don't need."

Strike one potential endorsement opportunity from Marcus Freeman's future. I'm guessing that company vice president from two years ago does not think Marcus Freeman is a "very observant and excellent food critic."

Will the Pistol formation return? I never understood why it wasn't used again as the season progressed.

LOL because we just had a big conversation in my house about the pistol formation. I am curious about why the staff abandoned it. Maybe simply because Saine was injured and never proved effective this season?

Do you mean Boom? That was the last time we saw it, vs Wisconsin... triple option with Beanie, Boom & Pryor. Then the defender teed off on Boom's jaw...

Back to Texas vs OSU................
I watched Texas several times this year and they failed to stop any team they played.
But, Colt is a one man wrecking crew. Should have won the Heisman. Maybe he'll catch the flu...................

They're 20th in scoring defense, and 2nd nationally in rushing defense, in a conference loaded with high-powered offenses. Their defense is a step above most of the defenses in the Big 12.

But I do agree with the statement that Colt should have won the Heisman.
