How much do you want to bet that you won't get the "A Big-12 team has never beaten Ohio State in a bowl" repeated ad nauseum by the "analysts" like you would if it were "Ohio State has never beaten an SEC team in a bowl"?

I'd bet you're probably right...

Well common sense should tell you that the media doesn't care about that since your bowl games against the big 12 didn't involve any of it's signature programs. I mean who cares what Missouri or Texas A&M does? Not only are they not signature programs but none of your Big 12 bowl opponents are playing in this game. Texas is. You are dead even at 2-2 with Texas and OU and none of those wins were in bowl games.

If it was northwestern or illinois that was 0-9 against the SEC in bowls do you think the media would make a peep about it?

We've beaten A&M and KSU in BCS bowl games. You're right, there aren't any high profile Big 10-Big 12 bowl tie-ins but there have been many high profile bowl games between the two.

When OSU beats the b12 champ, they are declared a fraud at OSU's expense.
When the SEC beats the b10 champ, they are declared a fraud at OSU's expense.
Please try to keep up.

Is Oklahoma a signature program? They've sucked in BCS games lately, yet nobody seems to care. ESPN is calling Stoops "Big Game" Stoops.

Somehow this does not haunt the Big 12, yet OSU's comparable lack of success in BCS games does haunt the conference.

There is a media bias, and it's not subtle.

I believe that often there we fans "find" bias because we are looking for it.

Well there is no doubt that the media(espn) still call him Big Game Bob but I would argue with you that it is always said as a complement. Often people mention ou's terrible bowl record and say that he needs to start to live up to his nickname. Unfortunately Texas did its part in the begining of the decade of making sure that the Big Game Bob moniker dies a slow death.

We've beaten A&M and KSU in BCS bowl games

That was a three loss Kstate team that lost at home to an unranked marshall team as well as , #13 Texas, and unranked Okst. The same year that ou backed into the mnc over usc after losing to ksu in the big12 cg.

I will say that was a very good aggy team that had only lost to #2 Florida St and in Austin to UT

Not that I think any of this has any berring on the game on Jan 5th, 2009 but rather provides some background

Alright, so explain why we have heard so much about OSU's struggles, and not about Oklahoma's struggles.

You don't have to look very hard to find an anti-Big 10 bias.

I'm pretty sure they called Bob that name to his face when I saw.

We had played LSU once before last year (a game we won). How many times did I hear 0-8?

absolutely correct. the bowl games we won against big 12 teams were against ones with loosing records who were last in the big 12 those years.

whether its actually there or not.

because its the current fad. you didn't have to look very hard to find an american flag on 9/10/2001. how many you see flying these days? tOSU put itself in a bit of a hole perception wise. but perceptions change very literally at the drop of a hat. tressell went from the creator of "tressellball" to as musberger termed it during the 06 tOSU scum game, "the single best play caller in college football". today? more tressellball im thinking. try not to pay too much attention to people who toss out the 0-9 bs or the 4 losses over the last 3 years. typically these are persons with so little knowledge thats all they have to contribute.

A three-loss KSU team that beat the fuck out of an OU team that was then-undefeated and played LSU near-even in the national title game. A three-loss KSU team that lost at Texas by only four points. A three-loss KSU team that we were ape-fucking by a 35-14 score until Tressel went into a shell, allowing KSU to score a couple late TDs to make the score close.

A KSU team that also featured Darren Sproles who was shredding everyone until our D shut him down. That KSU team had a ton of momentum coming into the Fiesta Bowl while we were reeling after losing to scUM. That was a quality win.
