I'm hoping the "anti-Buck" rhetoric continues to gametime, until our team is so sick of the implications, they will enter the game fully PO'd.

All due respect, seeing the anti-Buck stuff did not translate to good performances the last two big games. They need to not let anything get into their heads but assignment football.

They play as they are taught, and good things will happen.

Gotta agree with Gator on this. In the sense of last year... coming into the Florida game it was the opposite. Michigan was the real nat'l championship, Florida was going to get stomped etc... didn't happen.

But you're right, If we play assignment sound. The line pretends they are who we thought they were at the begining of the year (thanks for the line DG) and our O plays like they are playing a team from Michigan or Illinois, we should be OK.

Being too pissed results in stupid penalties that really killed us last year. I had a coach who used to say Pop em in the mouth, help em back up, and repeat on the next play. If we do that play with controlled anger, but unbridled effort we'll be OK.

So funny how no one is giving us a chance. I do not even think Texas will want to play this game after getting punched in the gut this year by the bcs. I cant wait to see what our defense can do against an offense that has not played against a defense this season.

Penn St. had a better PPG than USC by nearly 3 whole points, and they didn't have Washington State and Washington on their sched (118 and 116 in points allowed per game). Not to mention UCLA, Stanford, Oregon, and Oregon St. in the bottom 3rd. USC's offense was considered a disappointment this year, their defense was the key to their success. By the way, PSU only managed 13 points, and 7 of those were off a gift turnover by a freshman QB. OSU held 9 of their opponents to at least 10 points under their season average. Granted, that would still put UT around 34 points; more than OSU's 28 ppg offensive average. But, considering the Big Ten's average points allowed pg is nearly a whole TD less than the Big 12 average, it's probably a wash. Also, regarding the OSU/USC game, when one team's best offensive player is out with an injury, it tends to affect the outcome. (note to other Horn fans: I'm not trying to further the B10 vs. B12 defense debate, just throwing stats at a poster who apparently can't fathom such things)

On another note, I was at the corner store, picking up some beer before the cutoff, and as I was waiting in line, I saw the cover of the USA Today CFB Special. The headline read (I'm pretty sure this is verbatim), "#3 Texas looks to improve on 11-1 record against Ohio State". First thought thru my head was that's a poorly worded headline, since it suggests UT has a 11-1 record against OSU head to head (for those who woudn't know better). Still, I started to reach for it, thinking it might have a breakdown of all the games. Then I noticed the price. $4.95. FOUR FUCKING NINETY FIVE? For thirty pages of news print, when they can't even manage an intelligent headline? What a joke. I can't imagine that the USAT tabloid offered any insight that is worth much more than what is readlily available online for free. It just served as a reminder of how big a business college football is these days.
