Sounds good to me. I admit, I'm nervous about what Cook can do.
I was hoping ND would get in to the playoff. They definitely don't pass the eye test.
4 conferences, each with 2 divisions, hence 8 division winners.they better get on the 8 team playoff train and soon IMO.... And it's really not that difficult to do it. I agree that it may be difficult to have the quarter finals be neutral field since 3 post games may be asking too much from parents/fans financially if their team goes all the way. But have the first round 2 weeks after the end of the conference championships at the top seeds home field.... Go 8 team playoff!

The CCGs are round one of the playoffs. The 4 conference champs meet in round two. Then the two winners meet in the NCG. That's the only reasonable way to to it.
I'm a little disappointed in this- I think we got screwed getting jumped by Stanford and probably should have been picked for the Rose Bowl. But I can take it because my hatred for notre lame is second only to my hatred for ttun. I hope we give them a monster beat down. The chance to wipe out both of those teams is fantastic.
Brian "The Weatherman" Kelly is going to look like a real asshat when they get rolled by tOSU. This is really the year for the B1G to shut everyone up by winning the playoff, Rose, and Fiesta.
I still think an 8 team playoff after the championship games is perfectly feasible. The 5 P5 champs then have the committee (or a BCS like formula) pick 3 at-large teams. Seed them and first round games at home for the top 4.
There must be an echo in here or great minds think alike. I've been preaching that, too. Supposedly there are five power conferences, so why are the committee sitting around trying to decide who to eliminate? And if the two best teams are in the same conference, how likely are both to get in with 4 teams?
Make conference championships matter then use the other three spots to address the issues, above.
