FB Branden Joe (official thread)

Joe's Status?

Does anyone know the status of Brandon Joe? I think they said he was 95% going into the NW game, but I only recall seeing him briefly. We need his ability of clearing the way and moving the piles for our RB. He seems to be the best, maybe only, FB we have who is capable of laying a hit instead of taking one.

I really think we need him as a feature back to actually hit the whole hard and with some authority. He can bruise some people and gives us a good change of pace. He looked great against K-State and I was hoping to see more of that this year.

branden joe on the media

“It’s funny how they emphasize all the bad things,” he said. “But we were number one in Academic All-Big Ten picks. We do numerous hours of community outreach. People make bad decisions in life. It’s how you bounce back from that. That’s what is important.”

* The national television broadcast of the 2004 Alamo Bowl earned a 4.25 rating making it the second highest-rated college football game of the season on ESPN. The rating translates into a viewership of six million ranking it as the No. 12 most-watched bowl game in ESPN history. Over the last 10 years, the Alamo Bowl has produced six of the top 15 most-watched bowl games in ESPN history.
you'd think this would factor into espin's thinking in the future...

you dont think they have thought about it already? they pulled all that **** and 6 million people watched them slam OSU. i think they knew exactly what they were doing.
I just cant figure why ESPN would make OSU such targets. Im not saying its not true, but I just can't figure why it would be OSU or how does it benefit them? Maybe because it gives them a continuing, ongoing story to fill their slots? I dunno....

My theory on why tOSU is such a target...Its the new Notre Dame, we are the most hated, most popular college football team in America, so everyone tunes in to see how we "cheated" and all that, plus the fact we have a coach who has a reputation of being on the straight and narrow path, they just can't believe that a guy can be that classy, respectable, and follow all the rules in the world..so he has became the target...you see how they don't demonize proven cheaters like Barry Switzer, Jackie Sherrell and so on, because they have a media savy about em...while Tress is just plain, the media doesn't like him or tOSU.

Pardon the politics on the football board, but the liberal media can't stand it when a good, solid, conservative guy like Tressel gets successful and gains some national noteriety.

It's like- "Wait a minute; being a good conservative person can't possibly work, can it? We can't let him succeed- we must bring him down to our level."

Plus, as we've all said before, the highlight-happy/Boo-yah/sports casters are looking for flash over substance. Who cares if you're undefeated, how many points did you score? How many slick highlights do you have for us?

its because clarett dropped the story in their laps. had clarett gone to any other school, then pulled his shit and run to espin, they would be the team under the scope and we would all be here chastising that school.

i highly doubt the espin heads sat around trying to think up ways to destroy OSU. the "story" came up and bit them on the ass.

Yes, but they also understood what these numbers say. If Clarett was at Ohio University or Bowling Green, this would have been a one week story. They've spent a lot of money trying to dig up stuff.

Why? Because we are the largest university in America and have the largest alumni pool and people in central Ohio outside of the University are among the most loyal fans in football. We bring viewers. It's also the Tressel issues and new ND issues raised by previous posters.

This will all come back to bite ESPiN, just wait and see.

Goddamned liberal Trev Alberts, I knew he was speaking with an accent to mask his real identity.
