it doesn't take that long to heal, alot of tape helps too.
With the way he ran against KSt he better see the ball more then 4 times a game. he was just brutal. I don't know how he would do against a fresh D, but against a worn down (2nd half) D he can dominate. I for one would love 5 yards a carry right up the gut. If we can do that we WILL be undefeated this year.BigEdBuck said:I'd love to see it but I don't really see him getting more than 4 or 5 carries a game. JT likes to use the fullback in the I to block so unless he's revamped the whole offensive scheme I don't think we'll see it. I loved the way Joe ran the ball against KSU though - reminded me of Barry Foster with the Steelers. Great explosion through the hole, and we almost never saw that with any of the other backs.
My opinion is that if Lydell has problems getting out of the gate this season we will have no choice but to give Brandon the ball more.daddyphatsacs said:Am I the only one here that would love to see Brandon Joe get some more carries this season? He strikes me as the type of bruiser that will get stronger as the game goes on, and one that will wear down a defense. He demonstrated his ability to run the ball in the Fiesta bowl, I wonder if he'll be called upon more often this season.
Just thinking out loud, what do you all think?
I thought the Fiesta Bowl was the first game back where he was truly healthy. Same thing with Ross. Just because they played earlier in the year doesn't mean they were 100%. We had absolutely nobody healthy in the backfield last year, so having a 80% (just a guess here) Ross/Joe was better then 100% of nobody.BuckStocksHere said:Sure he did look great in the Fiesta Bowl.... but don't you think if he was THAT good - our all knowing GOD of football (all hail Tress!) would have played him there earlier and longer? I do.
This blurb was on dispatch.com, anyone know whats up with Joe? Please dont tell me he is upset about not being named a captain.....someone tell him that he needs to stay out of trouble off the field to gain the teams respect.Joe resumes leadership without title
The nagging pain in Branden Joe’s ankle likely is nothing compared with the nagging question in his mind of why he was not named an Ohio State captain.
Re-read what HE said vs. what was said by a writer... I think you are putting words in his mouth. He wanted to be captain... he's not... he'll live. PLAY BALL!"(Injuries are) frustrating and it’s almost like I have a camp curse on me," Joe said. "But I try to stick it out. I try to stay as close to my teammates as possible, whether I’m participating in camp or . . . cheerleading on the sidelines. I try to be a leader in any situation."
The captaincy was not his to have. Nor, except for one brief burst, has he experienced much personal glory.
There’s still time, but it’s down to 11 games. "I definitely haven’t put everything together yet in my career," Joe said. "I’m looking forward to putting it together this year."
