That's a nice spot up there. When we were up there in May, the carp were spawning in the ponds along the west side of the walkway -- you wouldn't believe the amount of noise they were making. It sounded like someone trying to drown a barrel full of puppies.

That's a nice spot up there.

it starts out as a paved nature walk, which is nice and has lots of birds and varmints, but nothing special, so I left my camera gear back at the room. Then I reached the expansive Marsh and pond. I had to run back for my gear. Fun photo coming later of some herons.

Sunrise from Fort Island isn't as majestic as the sunset, as there are some obstacles in the line of sight to the east.
