I believe that one of my great blessings in life was living in southern California in the 1970's. Just about every show and movie was set there and every time you turned the TV it was like everything was taking place in your backyard. More than that however was that my father worked as a plumber and as a kid during the summer he'd often take me out to job sites and I would wander around as he worked all day ( I know, he was a bad father allowing a 8-9 year old kid walk around Los Angeles unsupervised). I wandered around so many different parts that so often I can watch a movie scene set there and actually feel it and smell it. I believe this scene was set in El Monte and this is exactly what it looks like around there. Not the nicest place.
