Graeter's black raspberry chocolate chunk.

Also, I've got to try this Jeni's. Denver Post writer John Henderson, who has the enviable job of specializing in writing about travel, food, and college football . . . with a lesser focus on other sports, and is about the only literate writer the Post employs, raved about it. http://www.napics.com/08162006.html.

Jeni's is excellent! Wadc was the one that told me to try it, and I'm so glad he did. There's one on Grandview Ave. (next to Stauf's) and one in the North Market. I tried some funky flavors, most of which were excellent: salty caramel (better yet, gravel road), pear riesling, cocoa zin (like the wine), coffee (with Stauf's coffee), etc.

BTW, that article was excellent -- makes me want to move back to C-bus!

Is Breyers uncool? I didn't get the memo...

Regardless of brand:

Mint chocolate chip
Strawberry
Vanilla

Simple favorites, I guess. Had Ben & Jerry's Creme Brulee not too long ago, and it was awesome. Though I've been into homemade sorbets lately, mostly with a little juice instead of sugar... yummy...

ORANGES, Nutty. You know, like NDC's margaritas.

Geez, you'd think I'd remember where I'm writing by now, huh? Anything that can be taken the wrong way, will be...

All I meant to say was I prefer my ice cream with sugar, honestly.

Coffee ice cream is my favorite. I used to like Ben and Jerry's Rainforest Crunch but they stopped making it.

my own concoction is taking a couple spoonfuls of chocolate chip cookie dough and heating it in the microwave for about 20-25 seconds. it will rise and be sufficiently warm-to-hot. i then top it with vanilla ice cream. voila! real chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.

Graeters is the Guinness of ice cream. overrated.

Peach is right, the dublin mudslide is B&Js best right now.

sushichic is also right about Jenis being good, but it is their Makers Mark pecan that is their best product.

Denises has a very good chocolate peanut butter ice cream, and their coffee is the strongest. (for those who like Guinness, they have Guinness ice cream as well)

In Columbus one of the best is a very small place off Hard Rd. called Mardi Gras. They make the best Highlander Grog Ice Cream.
