I need help....

Im school teacher by day and a guitar player by night. That is if you count practicng a few hours a week for a few months.......We're getting ready to go on a class trip and I was going to take my guitar and portable amp along to kill a couple of hours on the bus. Think of a modern version of name that tune.

Obviously with only 50-60 hours under my belt, im somewhat limited by my musical selection/ability. I can pretty much play cartoon themes, holiday jingles, commericals, and kids songs. However, other than a couple parts to a couple of cool songs (due to my suckiness- which will be part of the fun for the kids) I don't know anything really good. What would be some fairly easy parts to some well known songs that I could probably pick up in a week?

Thanks for your help making a fool of myself.

Probably going to get some shit for one of these.

Here are some songs that I remember learning that really helped me out..
Metallica - Nothing Else Matters
Nirvana - Heart-Shaped Box
Creed - One Last Breath (this one's pretty difficult for a beginner/someone who doesn't play a whole lot)

And that's all I can remember. Most of the stuff I learned probably wouldn't be considered popular in the way you're requesting. :p

Pretty much any Nirvana song should do the trick, though.

Since I never responded, I figured I'd add a few unmentioned:

Beatles "While My Guitar Gentle Weeps" (Clapton and Harrison)

The Who "Pinball Wizard"

Cream "Sunshine of Your Love" (sort of a precursor to Iron Butterfly's In the Garden of Eden)

Stillwater "Fever Dog" (Russell Hammond's fingers fly like airplanes - it's incendiary)

STP - Plush
Wolfmother - Woman
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Modest Mouse - Float On
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
The Rolling Stones - Satisfaction
Jimi - Voodoo Chile(If you can play that I'd be impressed. :p )
The Kinks - Lola
Guess Who - American Woman

Creed sucks ass.
