Based on the somewhat ho-hum attitude in this thread since the reaffirmation, I'd say it is safe to say that nobody was worried.

Luers star headed to Ohio State: Reports Journal Gazette
Deshaun Thomas could be headed to Ohio State after all.
The Bishop Luers star told various media outlets that he intends to play basketball for the Buckeyes as part of their Class of 2010.
?I?m staying with Ohio State,? Thomas was quoted on Ohio State?s Rivals.com site, BuckeyeGrove.com, on Sunday.
Thomas was in Akron, Ohio, competing at the LeBron James Skills Academy.
?It?s a great class,? Thomas told the Web site. ?It is great playing with those guys. In a couple of years we can win this ring in college and hopefully be one and done.?
Exactly. Two years is a long time away.Oh8ch;1200743; said:Just the opposite. It is still a long way to signing day.
I hope so. The thought of a Sullinger/Thomas frontcourt with Buford (if he doesn't jump to the NAB beforehand) in the backcourt is quite tantalizing.osugrad21;1201141; said:Scout$--Why DeShaun Thomas Is A Buckeye
DeShaun says he was very interested in Indiana but the program's current state is not something he wants to deal with. He is 100% committed.

Soul Bowl chock full of talent
By THOMAS ST. MYER ? [email protected] ? August 3, 2008
MUNCIE -- One of the best prep players in the nation traveled down to Muncie on Saturday to showcase his skills at the 30th annual Soul Bowl.
Fort Wayne Luers 6-foot, 7-inch junior Deshaun Thomas, ranked No. 2 in the 2010 Class by Scout.com, lived up to his billing with a performance that caught the eyes of the hundreds at Heekin Park for the first of the two-day event.
Thomas scored 26 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked five shots, but his Fort Wayne squad lost to its Indianapolis counterparts 79-69. Former Ball State forward Josh Murray played on the Indianapolis squad and matched up with Thomas throughout the game. Murray scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
"There was a lot of talent on the court," said Murray, who left Ball State in 2001 after his junior season and played his final year of eligibility at IUPUI. "There was a lot more talent than I've seen in a while. (Thomas) is going to be special if he stays injury free."
The 16 year-old Thomas played beyond his years with his physical play in the paint. He backed Murray into the paint and dunked over him on one trip down the court. Two minutes later, he caught the ball along the baseline, spun to the rim and scored on a finger roll.
"He's going to be a junior? That's crazy," said Gawen Wells, the father of 10-year NBA veteran Bonzi Wells. "That's scary to see a dude like that."

At The Nike Global Challenge in Oregon...........Thomas scored 22 points and 6 rebounds in just 17 minutes in a 74-73 loss to Serbia. :(
Sounds like they should have played him more minutes (unless he fouled out).
