After Gordon heads to the NBA (after '07), I'd say Purdue has a pretty comparable roster to IU, if not superior. Painter is doing good things at Purdue.joefoshow;861441; said:Thomas said he wanted to look at PURDUE, Indiana, Michigan State, and Duke out of those schools i don't see why he would look at Purdue.

Does it seem like he backed off of his verbal so he can wait closer to his graduation (to keep Indiana/Purdue fans off his case), or is there a real potential that he is second guessing things?

It takes coffee
I'm a little sleep-deprived but off to Fifth Third Arena anyway for the adidas It Takes 5ive summer team tournament, the shoe co's big event for the early part of July. Today's the first day coaches can be out for July recruiting. Miller said he'd be there this morning, which makes sense because Brad Redford's team has an early game. Cronin should be there. I'll be on the lookout for Gillispie.
I'll also be watching DeShaun Thomas, the top-rated 2010 prospect, who's playing this afternoon. If you're in town with nothing to do, come on over. It's $10 for admission.

DeShaun Thomas had been playing with an AAU team in the Indiana Elite program this summer, competing in events at the 15-and-under age level.
But the 15-year-old Thomas, who is considered one of the Class of 2010's top prospects nationally, said he needed a change and joined a new team -- Spiece Indy Heat -- in the 16-and-under division this week at the Kentucky HoopFest.
"It was getting kind of boring," Thomas said of playing against players his age.
The sophomore-to-be at Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Luers might need to think about playing up even higher in the near future. With his new team, the 6-foot-7 Thomas has looked sensational this week.
"It feels better for me to play up," Thomas said after an afternoon game yesterday at the Hoops complex. "I know a lot of guys, and we play well together. I'm just trying to play and have fun."
With more than a month left on the AAU circuit, Thomas isn't sure which team he'll play with the rest of the season.
"I might play again with Indiana Elite, but it feels good to play up," he said.
As far as his college status, the player who for several years has been called "The Next LeBron" wouldn't answer any questions about it.
Thomas committed to Ohio State last month but reportedly said soon after that he was re-opening the process. Indiana University coach Kelvin Sampson and Ohio State assistant John Groce attended his game yesterday.
Thomas said he hasn't thought about college since then.
"I have enough time to think about college," he said. "I just want to play right now."
it took me a couple hours to decipher his statement. perhaps others will have better luck with the free article.OSUBasketballJunkie;887756; said:you have to read between the lines on this one......
