Not posing a BP rider to the 1st Amendment (damn attorneys)
but wondering if we should make some adjustments to deal with a membership listing > 15000, many thousands of visitors and a natl web
vs when we were a Tombstone bar-room site of 500 back in 2004

Guess the older I get.. the more I think of others.. and going out of my way not to offend... rest assured the f-bomb does not offend me, per se... but I almost always imagine posts being read by a recruits parents.. and Vernon Shazier

Saw my name mentioned so I'll say this. Not trying to be argumentative here but you guys can use whatever language you want to but I'll hold myself to a higher standard if you don't mind at least in my mind.
I don't need to use certain words to express myself. I'll just use adjectives.
Maybe you should email all 15,000 and see if they stopped posting here because of the language...

I considered never visiting this site again the first time i looked at the avatar you had and realized i was looking directly into a cows small intestine. :lol: At least i think that's what it was

Tight controls on the recruiting forum I can agree with, as can most everyone I assume.

I can't get behind controls anywhere else. I get a little pissed at even the suggestion that maybe folks could tone it down some (no offense to you matcar). As I get older, I seem to get more pissed when time is spent worrying about others' sensitivities. I fucking hate the thought of any more censoring than what has already occurred and I don't mean just here.

I really don't care if some religious person happens by here and gets offended by seeing the word "fuck" typed in a post. Move along and hang out at Christian Mingle, or Muslim Mingle, or Hindi Mingle, or whatever the hell else is out there that won't offend the delicate sensitivities. With each passing year I become more pissed at the constant drumbeat of those with "superior moral standing" based on their "religion" trying to tell everyone else what they should think, say, watch, read, listen to, etc.,

I realize the original post was meant for discussion, and discussion is good, I simply hate the place from which it came. Generally speaking, I rarely say "fuck", rarely have a post using it, so it is easy for me to say it won't affect me. It is easy for me to say that I have other words to use to convey my thoughts but that isn't what this is about to me. I am simply tired of those who are offended (or hell, possibly offended!) dictating their belief system to others.

If a TV shows offends you, turn the goddamn channel. If a movie is offensive, leave (or research it and don't go to begin with). If a book has language, or a theme, that you find offensive, don't read it....but don't tell me not to read it. And if a post/thread is offensive, don't read it.

So I guess I feel less is definitely more.
