FCollinsBuckeye

Head Coach
Former Game Champion
  • Eye of the Tiger

In about one months time our boys in scarlet and gray will be lining up against what is arguably the best team in CFB, with a leader at QB, who may be the best player in the nation and next Heisman Trophy winner. Early odds makers have the talented Longhorns as a 10.5 point favorite when they face off under the lights in what should be a beautiful night to play football.

Despite our success in recent Fiesta Bowls no one is giving us much of a chance to come away with a victory out in the land of the sun. Our team is playing eye of the tiger in the mind of some.

Eye of the tiger. Kinda like when Buster Douglas fought Mike Tyson in the memorable boxing championship bout in Japan. Eye of the tiger. Kinda like when the United States Olympic Hockey team faced the Soviets in 1980. Eye of the tiger. Kinda like when Villanova played Georgetown in the NCAA Basketball finals. Eye of the tiger. Kinda like when Upset faced off against the mighty Man O War in the Sanford Memorial. Eye of the tiger. Kinda like when the Mets faced the Orioles in the 1969 World Series. Eye of the tiger. Kinda like THE OHIO STATE'S triple overtime contest against MIAMI in the NC game. EYE OF THE TIGER.

Eye of the tiger. Perhaps. But one thing that odds makers may be overlooking is that this is not the same team that played against then #1 USC in the L.A. Colossium earlier this year. Or even the same team that faced the then #3 team Penn State Nittany Lions. Much has changed since then. First, we will have a healthy BEANIE Wells. If there was ever a difference maker it's a healthy #28. Second, our Freshman QB will have nearly a year of play under his belt. A guy that seems to learn from every game and every play. This month of preparation will contribute significantly to his progress. Third, an Offense that is starting to come together, averaging nearly 40 pts a game in it's final 3 games. Fourth, a Defense that has given up an average of only 10 pts. a game over the past six games.

Eye of the tiger. That's what they say anyway. They may be right. We'll see come January 5th. Methinks that there may be some people who will be in for a rude awakening. Will we win? The odds say no. But then again, that did not discourage Buster Douglas, the US Olympic Hockey team, Villanova, Upset, the Met's OR our beloved OHIO STATE BUCKEYES who faced greater odds in the very same stadium when it faced the unbeatable Miami Hurricanes.

You evil bastard. I will track you down and kill you. I swear it. And I can guarantee that I will find you some day. You know how I know I will find you?

I gotta take a little time to get over losing two title games
A little time to think things over and realize OSU is a dynasty
I better read between the lines on ESPN and see that OSU public image is down
In case I need it when Im older to realize how great it is to be a Buckeye

Now this mountain I must climb to prove to my coworkers were back
Feels like a world upon my shoulders but it?s better than being Michigan
I through the clouds I see love shine by getting invited back to the BCS
It keeps me warm as life grows colder and people stop believing

In my life there?s been heartache and pain of loosing every big game since 2006
I don?t know if I can face it again with Texas
Cant stop now, I?ve traveled so far, actually it?s just up I-10
To change this lonely life and watch the Bucks win

I wanna know what love is on ESPN
I want you to show me and the world were back
I wanna feel what love is on the blogs everywhere
I know you can show me in Tempe

I?m gonna take a little time to hope and pray
A little time to look around me and see how only USC and Oklahoma are even close to us.
I?ve got nowhere left to hide because we are facing a great time.
It looks like love has finally found me and possible the Bucks on Jan 5th

Did I fall asleep during one of the overtimes? I didn't think so, since I didn't sleep even after the game was over. Hmm....

Blame Scarletngray. The plagiarist holds no responsibility as to the accuracy of the contents of the plagiarized post.

Dude, you only watched two overtimes? Man, I feel sorry for you....

Note: Obviously I had a brain fart on that one...

Hey, that's cheating. Survivor != Foreigner.

I figure the sappy 80 love song threads would be merged so I was just saving the mods some time.

    Just for you though...

How can I convince you that OSU is real
Who am I to blame you for doubting Mark May?s spiel
I was always reachin', you were just a fan I knew I took for granted the team I have in you
I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was JT?s style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever, the search is over
You were BCS bound all the while
Can we last forever, will we fall apart
At times it's so confusing, these the whining of Mike Hart
You followed me through Cooper and patiently you'd wait
Till I came to beat the crap out of Michigan, now for five strait
I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my JT?s
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever, the search is over
You were BCS bound all the while
Now Les Miles stretch out behind me
The games that I have lost
Broken titles lie victims of the game
Then good luck it finally struck
    Like lightning that you see
Every highway leading me back to Tempe
Now at last I hold you, now all is said and done
The search has come full circle
    Our destinies are one
So if there?s a yellow rose in Texas
Show me that you give a damn about the whole state of Michigan
    You'll know for certain
    The man I really am
