ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

Just wondering, if Mike Slive of the SEC asked Joe Schad to do a favor to him -- not saying what kind of favor -- would Schad do it?

Cannot believe someone is making a big deal about Braxton Miller not being included in the three OSU players going to Media Day. But it is someone associated with ESPN (Schad).

Big fan of schools bringing players to media days that fans want to hear from
Is there a segment of fans that I'm not aware of who give a shit about generic player interviews?

The idea that schools have an obligation to make their [strike]semi-professional[/strike] amateur athletes available to the media is ridiculous.

You know what's funny about this?

Remember all those Gene Smith press conferences last year -- the ones that were trainwrecks? Joe Schad would attend all of them for ESPN.

He wouldn't ask one question.

Even student reporters asked questions. So he's either above asking questions or already has a narrative (to follow).

Personally I'm glad Brax won't be there. There is nothing he could say that would benefit him or the team. That's not a knock on him it's just that every idiot there would probably try and talk about the Heisman with him. Let him get a 10+ win and a couple thousand yards passing season under his belt before we talk that kind of stuff.

In fact The only person that needs to be there as far as I'm concerned is Simon..He will say where we are and what we are looking to accomplish...and no one will argue with him.

Manufactured entertainment to fill otherwise dead-air on the one out of two days of the 365 in a year where there is no North American sporting event -- the Wednesday after the All-Star Game.

FIFY: Sorry home run derby is a sporting event as much as styling someone's ass hair is an event. (Let's see Boomer narrate that, he'd probably be good at it).

What are the ESPY's??

I always thought "ESPY" was a euphemism for "ESPN Masturbation", where the network could regale and admire all of its glory.

Do you realize that years ago, ESPN asked people would they rather have an ESPY or an Oscar Award? Self-absorbed company creating a made-up award to pat themselves on the back.

Did they ask that question to Shaq at the premier of Kazaam?

This was years ago, but remember "Miracle" and Kurt Russell? They asked him that question, along with several athletes and a few other actors in attendance.

It seemed to be the question of the night. And that was on the "Red Carpet" show prior to the ESPY's (like they really needed a pre-show).

Just a mistake

Scott Van Pelt: "Paterno was a good man, just made a mistake."

A fourteen year, uninterupted mistake. Mistake after mistake after mistake.

That's what I'm hearing today on his show. Yeah, I know, watching ESPiN is a mistake on my part.

ESPN looking stupid again in ways more profound than can be stated.
