ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

You got me there...I was thinking about Mike Newkirk but his stats weren't as good as I thought I remembered. I had also thought O'Brien Schofield was drafted in the 6th or 7th round, but he was actually drafted in the 4th.

Still and all, how many 7th round draft picks have multiple front page stories on ESPiN? Answer me that.

None. And you're right, that's absurd. I'm not arguing that it isn't over the top. What they are doing is not about football and nor is it about gay rights. It's tabloid journalism. People on all sides of the issue have a morbid fascination with it, and they are shamelessly cashing in on it because that's the business they're in.

I wonder just how long it's going to take ESPiN to turn on Johnny FUBAR and act like they knew it all along. Mid-November maybe?

I don't think that's how they'll play it.
One need only look at Tebow to see how this will go.
They'll blame the Browns for being a joke, and 5 years from now, when Sumlin comes on to talk about the coming season for his resurgent Purdue, they'll instead ask him why he thinks Manziel didn't make it.
And he'll have to say a lot of nothing for 5 minutes while Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless prevaricate while completely ignoring that they're the very people responsible for creating that monster. That nobody wants to have Manziel or Tebow mentioned in the same breath of their team b/c of the unwarranted QB controversy ESPiN will manufacture out of thin air.

Speaking of Stephen Smith, they are running commercials that he will be on xm/Sirius Mad Dog channel, reportedly unfiltered. Over/under on how many months he goes before they suspend him?

He'd have to go pretty over the top to get suspended. My guess is we'll hear more swearing out of him but I don't think he'll really cross over any lines he hasn't already crossed over on TV.
