We have a thread for Offensive Discussion.

2009 tOSU Offense Discussion

Not Jim Tressel's thread.
Not individual player threads.

We are sick of the personal attacks from both sides...and we are sick of the repetitive posts from the same people. Some of you are toeing that line...and you've already received your 'PM talk' We don't play the 'fire the coach' game here.

Stating how poorly the offense has performed in 8 different threads adds nothing to discussion...and makes a mess that the mods have to then take time to clean, delete, merge.

We lost. Get over it and look forward to another Saturday of football.

Clean it up.

Gotta admit that I didn't read any threads this week except for LordJeff's because it was the only one that seemed to make any sense. Therefore, I have no idea how bad our "fans" were bashing on our Buckeyes this week, and rightfully don't give a rat's ass.

Keep it real, and keep it simple. Buckeye Football is fun. And this site makes it possible to share the fun with others. We all know, losing sucks. But it's part of the game.

To me, this thread is ridiculous. Not that it WAS made, but that it HAD to be made, and kudo's to grad21 for making it. I don't know what anyone's situation is out there, but I'll tell you mine. My beloved Buckeyes lost a game they were suposed to win this past saturday, and the rest of the day sucked. But, sunday morning I woke up (good thing) and kissed the wife and kids (good things) goodbye before I went to work (job is a good thing to have these days).

I guess I can't complain about life.

Peace.

Exactly......I think that some lose sight that we are simply fans of a college football team. Some take this [censored] way too serious. Yeah, it sucks to lose. But "we" really didn't lose a damn thing. I don't play for OSU, I don't coach for OSU...........I'm just simply a fan, as almost all of you are. That being said, if "we" didn't lose sometimes it wouldn't be as sweet when we win. The OSU football fan base as a whole has been super-spoiled over the Tressel era. I think that some of the long-term posters on this board realize this, because we were all here when it was great to simply beat Michigan. Our bandwagon has become rather crowded, perhaps it's time for some of the fair weather fans to go find another team to bitch about....

Agree, daddyphatsacs.

This thread isn't really about being "on the bandwagon," though... that stuff can be argued on the merits. It's the thread-hopping and attacking that is a rules issue.

Yes, it can be. Most of the rants you hear out there though are out of exasperation or just arrogant silliness from people who think they know it all.

I have seen very little attempts at deeper analysis (from a football standpoint, not "Blame Tressel, Fire Bollman, bench Pryor" standpoint) of the offense or QB play etc, and all of those have been here on BP.

Been out of town since Sunday and unplugged for awhile but I see when I get back that the furor has not completely subsided and now we have this thread. I have been coming to BP for several years because I have enjoyed the insight of many people and just recently started posting to throw in my 2 cents. Some of the stuff I have read and seen since I got back concerning last Saturday's game is just insane. If these same so-called fans approach their lives the same way that they handle the loss of a college football game I feel sorry for whomever they are associated with.

It's getting embarrassing to be a Buckeye lately. The divide between the alums and the "football fans" becomes so apparent every time we don't exercise our god given entitlement to win each and every football game. Interestingly, the exact opposite is occurring up north. The tsun "football fans" love the new regime, while the alums just cringe and keep fingers crossed that the pain will just go away quickly and quietly.
If I am not an alum, does that make me not a fan?

I'm not an alum either, but I think what the OP is talking about are the "fans" that crawl out of the woodwork whenever we have success and who treat the Buckeyes as if they are a professional team. I grew up here and remember that in school a lot of the other kids didn't like Ohio State - They liked Notre Dame, or Miami, or Penn State, basically, whoever was good that year. Now, 25 years later, they have Ohio State sweatshirts on in their facebook photos and can be heard from 2 doors down the street, screaming at Terrelle Pryor on the TV every saturday.

Hell yes, you can certainly be a fan without being an alum.

It's the "fans" who think that Ohio State history began in 2002 that drive people nuts. They have some sick sense of entitlement and think that every year should be a national championship year and that anything less is unacceptable. Those people are an embarrassment to the university and the supporters of the athletic program.

Not sure what you mean. There has been some good analysis and discussion in several threads (e.g., 2009 tOSU Offense). This is what makes BP great.
