Well I'd assume this stems from the Wed night visit with Meyer/Day. Likely one of the two scenarios.

1- "Hey Emory, we need to do what we need to do, you're our guy, but if we can't get a more firm commitment... we have to take a commitment from Baldwin"

2- "Hey Emory, you are our guy, and have been our guy. The way things might shake out, we need to bring another arm in the room, just want to give you a heads up, we're taking Baldwin's commitment tomorrow"

Either way, seemingly we have a potential diamond in the rough, and more than capable "extra arm". Personally I think Emory sticks with OSU, other than take some visits, he hasn't publicly indicated any reasoning to think different yet.

My money is on #2 and the emoticon is all part of the show. Could easily be wrong, but I agree with the assessment. He's visited and it's been relatively quiet other than when he visited. The push by Bama for Williams I think is more telling than anything.
