According to Jones' coach Tim Barron, Jones is being polite and courteous to the schools still recruiting him, but is not having any second thoughts on his decision to be a Buckeye.
"I do not have any visits set up right now other than the one to Ohio State, but I do think I will get back to Florida, Florida State and Georgia sometime this spring or summer," said Jones.
"I have looked at the depth chart at Florida and I know they could use another quarterback, so I like their coaches and I think I would have an opportunity to play early there. At Florida State, I really like how they produce players and what they do with their offense, so I want to get back down there soon and spend more time with the coaches.
"Georgia is a school that is not too far from home and I have known Kirby Smart since he was at Alabama, so I like our relationship. It is a school I will visit again."
The Gators, Seminoles and Bulldogs are still in this race, but they are all way behind the Buckeyes. Jones feels good about his decision. Other schools are still in pursuit, but it will not be easy to flip this one from Meyer and company.
"It would take something crazy happening for me to change my mind," said Jones. "I really cannot even say what it would have to be. It would have to be a big issue with the coaching staff, the school or something like that.
"I am still strong to Ohio State."
I'm guessing Urb and Co. are going to be staying in touch with other QBs just on the off chance...."Solid but looking around" is not, by definition, "solid."
Agreed. And I expect him to take visits, look around and enjoy the recruiting journey. In the end hell probably be a Buckeye, especially when he sees how good our offense will be this year and how well we can utilize himWe obviously dropped some last season with our offensive performance according to some of the interviews I read quoting Jones. He was not impressed to say the least. I would bet if Urban had not made changes, Jones would not be a Buckeye next year, nor a Longhorn for that matter.
However, luckily Urban did make changes and once JT starts throwing up big numbers under Day/Wilson, I think Jones will feel better about where is is currently committed.

Jones looks more Dual Threat than Pro style, IMO...Agreed and can't blame him really. But I do have a lot of faith in the new staff, whereas I had zero in Beck from the get go. Hoping Emory sticks though (and I think he will), he's the best pro style QB commit on paper I can remember since probably Zwick...even then, probably have Jones higher.
"I fell in love with the school," said Jones, who is interested in majoring in business finance, sports management, film or photography. "I believe in Urban Meyer and his philosophy... He prepares his players to be great in the future, and great men.
"If (I didn't play) football, I believe that would be the school I'd want to go to."
"I took a couple of visits to Auburn that nobody knew about," Jones said. "They were very high (on my recruiting list) because me and the last quarterback coach (Rhett Lashlee), we were really close; they're like family to my mom. My mom loves them. .. I just love what they do."
