For PC users, the Construction Kit has been released. They also released some HD textures for the game.

There's something on Steam called the Steam Workshop. You can browse mods and install them with the click of a button. It's awesome. Needs to be more organized, but it's a fantastic idea for those interested in using mods (and if you're playing on PC, you want to do this whether you know it or not :p).

Man, it took them long enough! They were supposed to have it out within a few weeks of release :( I don't know why they couldn't just release it as a separate program though instead of going the Steam route. Seriously, the program is worthless without the companion Elder Scrolls/Fallout title which is already on Steam. Why not just release it on their website like they always have instead of locking it down for piracy reasons?

What's worthless about it? It works fine. I've never modded in my life and I've used it for a few things. Works great. It's still a separate program. It just loads everything automatically. It's ridiculously easy to use (same with the Steam Workshop). I think these are great things.

No no, don't misunderstand me, I love the construction toolkits! I've used it myself to create a few mods:

http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6853
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=36488

Theres also a few mods with godly weapons/armor that I've made for personal use, never thought to upload them.

What I meant by the worthless comment is that Bethesda didn't need to go through all the effort of implementing the toolkit with Steam, it should have just been a stand alone program like always. I understand why they started putting Fallout and the Elder Scrolls on Steam, it helps protect against piracy and some portability. The toolkit didn't need to be a part of that though as the program is of no use if you don't already have the game.

Ah. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm a Steam fan, so I don't mind, but I understand why people don't like the Steam integration.

I may or may not have made a couple pieces of beastly fortify marksman armor. :p
