Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim

With the pc you can hit tilda key and generate nearly any item. So you could quickly fill up a room and generate all the shit you want.

Why look up item ID's for the console commands when you can just open up the Bethesda's Construction Kit and generate your own weapons with crazy stats in the same amount of time :tongue2: To be honest, I don't mod the game by putting in godly items myself, I tend to install mods that make the textures/models even more beautiful and detailed or add features to the game without breaking it.

I do that as well (as long as they don't crash/slowdown my POS computer). I was just pointing that out so Deety could satisfy her inner hoarder.

All games should benefit from better textures, shading, sexy walks, boob physics, and killable children.

Yeah, I can't take a game seriously unless the tatas properly bounce as a female walks :p Just kiddin'. It does amaze me what people are able to add to the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, I'm convinced they could tweak anything you could possibly want in the game at this point.

Uh oh. I think I'm accidentally a vampire...

Did you just contract it? I haven't looked into it much in this game, but in past TES games you had 48 game hours where you could cure it before it took hold if you didn't want to become a vampire. Any of the standard disease cures should work (potion, spell or blessing from a shrine).

I tend to carry a couple Cure Disease potions at all times just for this purpose. Vampires, wolves, crabs and rats are all dirty little critters festering with germs.

I just cleaned out a vamp castle - mostly - and I figured it happened when I snuck a nap after clearing out a section. Not sure what happened, but the sun weakens me and I just had an "odd thirst." Still not sure what I'm doing, so I'll just roll with it. :p

Maybe that explains why I was having trouble moving quickly, and then suddenly kicked into high gear for no apparent reason.

It usually gives you a message in the HUD whenever you contract a disease, though it can be easy to miss during combat. If you ever want to check to confirm, it will show any diseases that you're carrying if you go under Magic > Active Effects.

I've posted before that I no longer build PCs that are 'bleeding edge' because I can no longer justify the cost vs depreciation rate of modern state of the art components. Back in the day, you dropped two grand plus on your PC because that's what a good gaming rig cost. But at the same time, it wasn't about building a PC to run Doom or Rise of the Triad or Duke Nukem 3D at max detail ... you spent a lot of money because that's what you had to do to run the game at all. Nowadays it's not like that. Sure, a $600 value PC isn't going to run BF3 or Skyrim or Crysis on 'ultra,' but it'll at least run it and run it well.

Before I had kids, or a wife, or any responsibilities whatsoever, dropping $200 on a single component was completely rational.

$200 for a Diamond Monster 3D to make Quake look like that? Cool.
$200 for a SoundBlaster AWE32 to make Doom 2 sound like that? Yes please.

For the first time in maybe 12 or 13 years, I'm crack-addict rationalizing that dropping $150+ for a 6850 or something better just so I can see more trees on the horizon is a completely worthwhile and reasonable impulse purchase. Screw two weeks worth of groceries, I've got Skyrim!

Hey it's Black Friday. So I logged into NewEgg and bought a 6850, 650W PSU, and an Antec 300 case all on sale plus another $55 in rebates. For myself.

For Skyrim!
