Ed "LL" Warinner (Run Game Coordinator FAU)

Yeah, I'm bummed about this. Really wanted him to be Slob King for life here, but the Peter Principle (or perhaps just an inability to mesh with Beck in their joint role) seems to have left no room for that. I'm not at all convinced that Studrawa is anything to be excited about, but I guess we'll find out. Could also be that coaching Ed's guys with Ed still there posed some hurdles for Studrawa that will now be gone too.
Stud had a strong track record when he was hired. We'll see what some less, *ahem*, predictable playcalling does for the OL play this year.

I think recruiting played a big role in Meyer's decision to go with Studrawa over Warinner moving forward.

Yes, Warinner did amazing things with the 2014 OL, turning two converted DL, a 3-star guard and an undersized center (and Decker) into a unit that dominated Bama into submission.

However, when you recruit guys like Wyatt Davis, you don't need to work quite as much magic to field superior OL units.

And looking back at the OL recruiting since Meyer arrived, it has left something to be desired.

Granted, it was better than Bollman, but that's not saying much.

Indeed. It will be fun to watch an offense that is executing a plan again, rather than a collection of plays. That can only help the O Line. Not too hard to sell out to stop the jet sweep when you know it's coming. Certainly hardly to block it when the D knows it coming
