Ed "LL" Warinner (Run Game Coordinator FAU)

Question - is there any other OC in the nation that is also the OL coach?
seems it's too much for one person... you have to help 5 of the most important positions
and still keep the offense going...

Makes sense for the QB coach to be OC.. the two seem to 'fit' and coaching one is close to coaching the other
not saying our new QB coach is ready or able.. just making a general statement

Well in Tejas's case both the QB and OL coach were OC. I see what your saying but I for one didn't think OL would take that big of a step back..

My senior year our OL coach was the OC after the previous OC (now an FBS head coach) got canned for suck. Our coaching breakdown was a little different with him coaching OL, but being in charge of C and G and another coach in charge of T and TE. I would guess tOSU has at least one other GA/QC coach helping with the OL.

I haven't been paying attention, but where does Warinner spend the game? An OL coach needs to be on the field, but an OC is better in the booth.

I choose positivity, but, this is on a tee.. @NJ-Buckeye

Warriner was OC/OL under Mangino's BCS Kansas team, I thought. I think looking over your shoulder as a QB may be more of the issue than the play calling.. but neither have been particularly great as of late.

On the field.

Interesting from today's presser: Meyer seems to be ruminating on his options with respect to his offensive coordinators. It seems like he's realizing that calling plays from the sideline isn't working. His choices to get through the season seem to be either moving Warinner up to the press box or giving playcalling duties to Tim Beck. Of the two, what is everybody's preference?

I just posted this under the 2015 Offense Discussion thread

I would like to see our OC put in the press box and not on the sidelines where I believe Coach Warriner is added at the present time. I also thing that it might be possible that he has too much on his plate if he is coaching both the OL and being the OC. I have no idea how much of that coaching he delegates to someone else but it would be interesting to know.

I also would not like to see Braxton put in the wildcat all by himself if he cannot throw the ball. I do not know maybe Meyer is setting something up for down the road where they run a reverse or Braxton can throw the ball but they are just holding that back. If the latter is not true, I wish they would put someone back there with him so it gives is a defense subject to think about and not send the QB out to a WR spot where he is semi-worthless.

I liked Herman, but I also recall some games where he failed, ie VTech, Clemson, etc. He had his not so great moments as well. There are going to be games where the other coaches that are also paid pretty well because they are also good at what they do comes up with something better than our guys do.
Herman was t perfect, no one is. But Clemson- we scored plenty and might have even done more with a healthy Miller. I don't think that game was a bad effort by Herma. Or the offense.
