My bad, I wrote "even" because I assumed if people didn't eat bass, they must not eat the smaller crappie and sunfish. I thought both tasted good.

I think there's a Brandy/Cognac discussion to be had there as to Crappie/Sunfish... that aside, as long as someone else is doing the work I prefer that family of panfish to anything else that's sort of common in Ohio/Freshwater.

Probably Rainbows after that.

Then Yellow Perch, Walleye, Saugeye in that order.

My experience with bass... and to my recollection we're only talking small mouth is to catch it, clean it, cook it, eat it, do not put it in the frigde, don't freeze it, to not pass go and collect $200, and it's pretty good.

Never been much of a catfish guy...

Because of a damaged spine my fishing days are done, but if I was going to recommend one lure for large-mouth bass fishing it would be, the jointed Rapala floating minnow in the color shown below. Cast it along lilly pads and weed beds, and because it floats you can actually see the fish attack it. The only trick is, you have to learn to tie the special knot.

Edit: the Rapala web page wouldn't cooperate, the preferred color is gold.

Yeah. The guy that names fourteen fish in order of preference. :roll1:

Look at it this way Kyle. Imagine we were sharks and random terrestrial animals liked to walk into the ocean for us to eat. I do not like groundhog as much as I do, oh, let's see... pig. (Please refer to the fact that Thump kills groundhogs and starts threads about Bacon)

I just can't tell that big of a difference between fish. I went to a couple Callabash's (sp?) on vacation and It all tasted like fish stick stuffing to me. You could literally serve me goldfish nuggets and I'd be all "North Atlantic Cod? MMMMM"...tuna being the exception. I know it's tuna.

Rinse the fillets in cold water and let them sit in the fridge for a couple of hours in a bowl of saltwater.
