Reggie made the critical mistake of passing out at a UNC frat party and ended up teabagged and on the interwebs.

This was actual skin-to-skin contact unlike the fabric that seperates players nuts from Paulus' forehead.

Did anyone else notice after Dook got waxed by Clemson the other night that ESPN.com didn't have any headlines about the beatdown they received from Clemson(front page or in CBB section)?

UNC off to a fast start....hopefully UNC is up by 363 points at the half.

In a surprising moment, Scheyer was the first player tea-bagged this evening. Tried to take a charge, barely got any contact, and flopped without getting the call. But not before Deon Thompson gave him a faceful that Reggie Love would be jealous of.

Ty Lawson took the gameover in the second half, and UNC really had control for the last 8:00 or so.

I still don't know how Coach K gets as much as he does out of the players he recruits. Its unreal, the defensive pressure he can create year after year. Tonight was difficult becuase Ty Lawson can break their pressure down single-handedly. Most teams don't have that luxury.

Once again, Duke has a team that lives and dies with its three point shooting. That has been their trademark in recent years, and it's also why they've been getting ousted earlier in the tournament. Carolina can beat you inside and outside, which is why they have pretty much owned the Dookies in recent years, as well.

did duke's run of dominance in the ACC coincide with Dean Smith retiring? I'm too stupid to remember that far back....but it seems like while NC sucked and struggled to replace their HOF coach was when duke was at it's best. coincidence?

Not sure what you mean by this--Coach K currently has 7 McDonald's All-Americans on his team:

Henderson
Scheyer
Singler
Smith
Paulus
L. Thomas
E. Williams

He's got plenty to work with--just about every coach in the country would give his right arm to have talent like that.

Duke won back-to-back NCAA titles in '91 and '92. Smith retired after the '97 season. Duke did have a good period from 1999-2002, with N.C. slightly down, and that's been reversed since Williams came over from Kansas in '03.

It's about the recruiting... While Duke has gotten McD's AA's recently, they haven't attracted the level of player that they did from '98-'02... There have been no Elton Brands, Jason Williamses, Carlos Boozers, Shane Battiers, Mike Dunleavys, Corey Maggettes, etc. come to Duke for awhile...
They've landed good kids that have been solid but not elite and were likely overrated by the recruiting services and the Mickey D's people (and this is coming from a Duke fan)... Henderson and Singler are the closest K's had to those guys... JJ was a great scorer, but he didn't have the people around him like the other teams...
