Duke Blue Devils (that rat faced scumbag)

Looks like ESPN can only use one of their favorite terms - "number one Duke" - for a few more days.

That's a shame.

Then you missed the typical bull[censored] refs favoring duke. On the inbounds play where Henderson scores to tie, they took 6 full seconds to inbound the ball. The ref standing near half court was counting with his arm...and you can clearly see him count to 5 and not blow a whistle.

At least there was justice tonight.

Wah-wah... Wake got their make-up call with the travel... Get over it.

I've gotten this response from every Duke fan out there. First, the guy landed on a Wake player and fell. That's a travel.

Second.....just because there was a perceived bad call later, it doesn't change the fact that there was a referee counting to 5 on the in bounds, got to 5, and still didn't blow a whistle. That is exactly why people hate Duke. No other team gets those BS calls every single night.

I'm not too worried about Duke really going anywhere. They'll look dominant until they need a strong low-post game like they would in the NCAAs. Then they'll flame out against someone like West Virginia or Purdidn't or Minnesota....

It's only a travel if he tries to get up or rolls over, and he did neither... A player has to be able to land with a rebound... If he can't land, a travel is not supposed to be called unless he tries to roll over or get back up since his feet were never planted to establish a pivot foot...

You always completely lose it about Duke... People like you always look for the conspiracy theories because of your own delusion...

So the fact that a referee actually counted to 5 on the in bounds play and didn't blow his whistle isn't a big deal to you? You're that far up duke's ass that it isn't a big deal because you're that used to it?

I'm saying that you want to believe a conspiracy is there, so you find ways to see it...
I personally didn't see it, but, I'm not one to believe that everyone is trying to hand everything to Duke either...
And don't discount the existence of make-up calls... Refs aren't infallible, but they often try to even things out when they can...

blah blah blah...typical duke fan reasoning to duck every legit complaint about BS reffing. this wasn't a charge/block opinion call. this was a referee counting to 5 with hand motions, getting to 5, and then not blowing the whistle. all of this during an inbounds play for duke while duke was down 2 and had no time outs....with seconds remaining.

explain to me how that is excusable.

Just watched the replay on ESPN360 of the last play... Watched it twice. First time I watched I looked at the official. If you count how many times he does it FROM THE WHISTLE, he gets to five and before he's done counting the 5 Duke inbounds...
The second time, I did my own count from the whistle and it was the same. Before I was done counting the 5 it was inbounded...

It has to be a FULL 5 for the call, meaning that he has to finish counting the five or saying 5, which he wasn't... It's not about getting TO 5, it's about counting a complete 5, which he didn't...

I watched it on my 46" HDTV 4 times. I timed it because my cell phone has a stopwatch for some inexplicable reason. I was never under 5 seconds. I also watched the guy counting. He counts with his arm. He pumps his arm 5 times. The first time he pumps it a full second has elapsed. Multiply that by 5 and you get a full 5 seconds. After all that, the ball has still not been inbounded yet.
