Duke Blue Devils (that rat faced scumbag)

Coach K's job is not to name his successor. He should have stayed in his lane and not influenced the AD to hire his preferred choice, especially because I'm sure K wasn't doing his own unbiased, independent search and looking at all possible candidates. I'm quite sure Scheyer was nowhere remotely close to the most qualified for the job, he only got it because that is what K wanted, and this hire is a slap in the face to a lot of coaches who were more deserving.

There are reports that K actually called Amaker and told him he couldn't get the job because he had been away from Duke for 25 years. That's the kind of BS that this hiring decision was based on. Duke has the right to hire whomever they want, and I have a right to call their coaching search bogus and their hiring decision an unnecessary gamble. I'm not saying Amaker was the best choice, but that their reasoning in hiring Scheyer was unsound in almost every way.

I mean if we are basing things purely on resume would ryan day have been our coach?

Not DZ but I do not think Roy Williams anointed Davis. Might have Had some important with the UNC administration but nothing close to what Coach k has had with this hiring.
Williams was heavily involved with his replacement and I imagine like K, the administration welcomed his input. UNC supposedly looked at 5 candidates, all were former UNC players. There is only one reason Duke is being criticized [by a few] and not UNC.

Coach K fan boys are insane. :fryingpan:

On Saturday, Krzyzewski will coach his final home game at Duke, fittingly against his chief rival, North Carolina, and the festivities surrounding the coach's send-off are shaping up to be unlike anything college basketball has seen before.

Tickets for the game are fetching prices usually reserved for the Super Bowl, with the cheapest seats on Vivid Seats now going for about $3,450 as of Thursday night, with the average price nearly double that, and reports of some of the best seats on the market for more than $50,000 each.

This really burned Coach K's ass
He mentioned it multiple times in his post-game ceremony..
He's pissed... and being NC had to double that fire...
Damn near guaranteed his team will do damage in March Madness

You’d think the circumstances would damn near guarantee they wouldn’t get their asses handed to them by an unranked team in K’s last home game, too.

2022 was the year we were finally rid of Tom Brady and Coach K

I'm sure it's the darkest year in the history of sports journalism but fuck them. I'm glad I won't have to hear about either one of them again.

Joke is on you, because instead of talking about current performance, they'll be comparing EVERYTHING to Duke under K for the next 3 seasons. New coach at some D3 school: How does his performance in his first 3 seasons compare to K? Lottery draft picks on teams: how do they compare to the lottery picks that K coached. On and on, and it's going to be awful during the tourney.
