Credit to K he spoke only about Ohio State for the post game interview and it was all positive. Might be the first time I've seen that

Amaker was 108-84 at *ichigan. If you were a top 5 program all time would you be okay with hiring him? I’m not saying Scheyer should be either. But I wouldn’t want Amaker for sure.Shame on Dook for letting Coach K push the decision. Tommy Amaker helped to make Coach K, and has paid his dues as a successful head coach leading Harvard to multiple Ivy League titles. Amaker wanted the job. Coach K pushed for John Sheyer - who has never been a head coach - and they let him make the call.
Fuck Dook even more. I'll let others decide what motivated Coach K to shun Amaker for Sheyer. I just hope they go back to being the shitbags they were before him.
Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski pushed for Jon Scheyer to succeed him over Tommy Amaker
To me the issue is K is practically ruling from the grave so to speak. You're retiring, it is out of bounds for you to pressure or otherwise influence the program to hire your preferred man. I don't think programs should consider the former coach's wishes at all when deciding who the next hire should be. At the end of the day, if the Scheyer hire is bad, it's a reflection on Duke, not Coach K.Amaker was 108-84 at *ichigan. If you were a top 5 program all time would you be okay with hiring him? Yeah, I don't get the outrage here. Coach K made Duke what it is good and bad. This is one of those situations where the outgoing guy has literally BEEN the program for 4 decades. Of course he's going to have say in his replacement. And Amaker has nothing on his resume that screams passing on him is a mistake. He's been decent at Harvard, but was mediocre at Seton Hall and tsun. Imagine if Gene Smith hired Tommy Amaker after Matta stepped aside...now imagine it at Dook where basketball is king. The outgoing guy having a hand in who his replacement should be, is an outrage?
Exactly…I guess people weren’t happy with Ryan Day? He was hand picked by Urban. The outgoing guy having a hand in who his replacement should be, is an outrage?
Okay…let’s say hypothetically Woody never punches a Clemson player. Now let’s say he coaches another 6 or 7 years and at the age of 73 ish he decides he wants to step away. Would you be okay with Woody Hayes hand picking the next coach for Ohio State after 35+ seasons, 5 national titles, 13 BigTen titles, etc…? It would basically be an identical situation. To me the issue is K is practically ruling from the grave so to speak. No. I believe in hiring the best person for the job. Hiring the guy who someone else who's sort of in power thinks you should hire is how people who deserve opportunities get denied over and over.Okay…let’s say hypothetically Woody never punches a Clemson player.
