I don't know why Roundabouts are so difficult. You yield, you don't stop.
Some of the roundabouts in England used to scare me because on some of the busier ones with two lanes the cars are approaching at a high rate of speed. Sometimes it's difficult to judge not only which lane they're in but also how fast they're going. Another thing, sometimes there's multiple exits which makes it a bit confusing when you're not sure where you're going because not only do you have to watch the road but you also have to try to read signs and make split second decisions. Of course you can always go around again if you miss your turn.

At least half of the roundabouts I have used around Columbus were modified 3-12 months after they opened to convert the second outside lane into a right turn only lane, after originally being used as a second circling lane.

Columbus drivers are poor enough without changing the traffic patterns.

They are still far less crippling than the prospect of rainfall mixing with automobiles.

I thought all the bad drivers lived in/near Lincoln. The hicks that come here from surrounding counties drive like it's their first time on paved roads.

And we're getting into the roundabout craze, too. They're ripping up a major intersection on my side of town to put in a three-lane roundabout. I can only imagine the carnage that will ensue.

Hopefully they'll put in cameras, too. The carnage will be awesome.

You ain't kidding. To go from zero roundabouts in this area to having a three-lane roundabout on, literally, the only major thoroughfare in this section of town is astounding.

My elderly in-laws live about three blocks from this monstrosity and will have to use it daily. I am not pleased.

Best roundabout I've been on...ARC DE TRIOMPHE in Paris, France. Pretty sure Columbus would burn to the ground if they did something like this. And this is mild and only one part of it:

First time we went to Paris, being the rubes we are, we didn't know about the tunnel taking you over to the Arc. So we get there, walking up the Champs Elysees, and proceed to try to cross the roundabout. Not our most brilliant moment. The irony of trying to play live Frogger in France was awesome.

Also, just prior to this as I was standing on the Champs Elysees median getting pics of the Arc, some dude in a bike rides up to me and says, "I'm doing a project where I take pictures of people with their own cameras. May I take your picture?" I just kinda stared blankly at him because, as theft attempts go, that was one of the more silly ones I've heard. I just laughed and told him "No."
