DT Cameron Heyward (6x Pro Bowl, 3x All Pro, Pittsburgh Steelers)

Heyward was held almost as much as Vern on Saturday including once that was one of the most obvious un-called holds of the season (rushing up the middle). Not carping on the officials again, just observing that Heyward is already beginning to look like Vern on occasion: A tow-truck barreling at the QB with an offensive linemen hanging on for dear life trailing behind him. One of these days, it might even get called.

bingo. So many times the people around including, myself were screaming HOLDING. It looked like he was walking backwards over the line towards the QB with a o-lineman trying to block him facing his own QB.:( and he wasn't the only one. For a second, I thought I was in MADISON

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

JEFF HINCKLEY Dispatch
Cameron Heyward, right, wrapping up Northwestern's Stephen Simmons, has started the past five games for Ohio State.

Listening to Ohio State players talk about freshman defensive end Cameron Heyward is like reading movie ads, with those snippets of glowing reviews from critics: "Something Special!" -- linebacker Marcus Freeman
"The Sky Is The Limit!" -- tackle Doug Worthington
Those are actual words by actual Buckeyes.
Veterans normally don't rave about freshmen. It's just not cool. Usually, judgment is reserved, praise is qualified.
But not for Heyward. Since arriving in June from Suwanee, Ga., he has become known for more than being the son of former NFL running back Craig "Ironhead" Heyward.

One sport may be enough for Heyward

COLUMBUS ? Ohio State coach Jim Tressel doesn?t rule out the idea 6-foot, 6-inch freshman defensive end Cameron Heyward could also play basketball for the Buckeyes, as he said he wanted to when he was recruited.
But Tressel mentioned more impediments to that desire than reasons why it could happen when asked about it on Thursday.
?Will he be interested in playing some basketball? I don?t know. He?s focused in on doing a good job in school this quarter. The thing we always say to these guys is that we know what you want to do, Coach Matta thinks it?s fine, but if your grades aren?t where we need, we can?t allow it,? Tressel said.
?He?ll take care of that and do well with it. But ultimately it will be his mom?s decision, because, believe me, Mom?s in charge,? he said.

Did anyone see the freshman completely blow up All-American tackle Jake Long? It happened in the 2nd quarter with under 5 minutes to go on a 3rd and 3 and Heyward drove Long back so far that he fell backwards over Henne, who was laying on the ground due to Vernon Gholston

. I can't believe that Herbie or Musberger never mentioned it.

I have a feeling that this guy is going to have an amazing career. Iron Head would definitely be proud of his son!

It was noted by several people in real-time on the game thread. I'm pretty sure it happened at least twice. Gholston would run back and make a weasel-pile out of Schilling and Henne and Heyward would bull-rush Long backwards over the pile.

...at least twice
