by idiot you mean reading the obituaries? by idiot you mean seeing people innebriated in the workplace? by idiot you mean observing those of whom must go through the process of having a hepatectomy or liver transplant?

......but thats all fine because your non-peerly reviewed study saves you by claiming its such a B6 contributer to the body yet as soon as everybody goes out and drinks thats immediately the last thing on their mind.:roll2:

so reading the obits tells you that a teacher can't have a beer? or is it that beer kills everyone in the obits? Do you have lots of drunk people stumbling around your workplace...if you do maybe you should take that up with management.

Jeff, did you or did you not read the study? You're making it abundantly clear that you did not, and that you just magically KNOW more than every study out there.

Why is drinking alcohol wrong? Are you aware that a large number countries drink responsibly?

How does the abuse of an item make the item wrong?

I can abuse money, sex, food, etc. That doesn't make those things wrong. That makes the irresponsible use of them wrong. So I pose a question to you, you refuse, and complain that I won't ansewr yours? Are you kidding?

explain how you plan on eliminating money, sex, and food from your life? what role does alcohol play in your life? money is your source of income, sex is means of reproduction, and food is a means of survival. i guess if you want to die and/or not carry on a family then sure you have a point.

The New England Journal of Medicine is "non-peer reviewed." That's news to me. Care to offer some proof.

Seriously, dude. I'm glad that you were able to get sober. How many coins have you earned? But you just reek of the "recovering alcoholic" who now, rather than accept his own faults and weaknesses be they spiritual or simply an unlucky genetic draw, has to demonize all drinking. After all, the underlying weakness couldn't possibly have rested within you but rather surely must be contained within that inanimate beverage in the bottle. Oh demon booze...you bastard you!

i never once made that claim now did i? if you think i did then go ahead and go back and quote me where i did. oh people can drink in moderation such as in restaurants in your example but do you think they do it for B6 intake?.......spare me.

I never said that was the only reason that they did,,,,but you said that beer had not value to it. I am showing you that in one study it does. And actually it is not that far fetched to beleive that some people do have a beer here and there for the healt benifits....just as it has been proved about red wine, so many people will have a glass of red wine here and there for the health benifits.

Jeffcat, do you think all alcohol consumption is wrong?

how is it right?
he didn't ask you if you think it is right? don't you understand the difference? it is obvious that you don't.
Jeffcat;831214; said:
no but i am medically inclined enough to be logical and realize that the "benefits" of alcohol are severely hurled off a scale by the weights.
yeah, i bet you're "medically inclined." 10 milligrams of haldol, please. scratch that. make it 20.

one study of many i am sure. each with varied levels not to mention unknown subjects. also not to mention that nobody drinks for their daily vitamin intake. also not to mention that there are foods and actual vitamins that DRASTICALLY outperform the the intake of alcohol(in which case the alcohol isn't doing it anyways) and with little to none of the side effects that alcohol can cause.
it is mind-boggling how much dumbassery there is in that quote.

i could very easily sit here and claim that people that enjoy killing as a release of anxiety is a medically proven way of lowering blood pressure rates and relieving hypertension but that doesn't make it any better because it is worthless to mention.
you still don't get it. drinking alcohol is not intrinsically illegal. murder is. :roll1:
no different from alcohol causing crimes, fights, poisoning, drunk driving, etc.
alcohol doesn't cause crimes. people do.

jeff, someone with a drinking problem did a number on you. you have fallen off the deep end, and you have a sack of potatoes for a lifesaver.

It doesn't matter if anyone "wants" to die. They will.

well i was speaking just in the general terms of alcohol there. in terms of the teacher she could adequately be looked upon as a liability amplified by the importance of her profession of study. people are not THAT stupid. she labeled the picture "drunken pirate". if she wants to bitch and complain about it then learn not to post those pics publicly ESPECIALLY with that caption.

If she didn't have children in her care at the time of the pic, what in the fuck is the problem?

How is having a beer at a party a liability?

oh of course the journal itself is reviewed but the study itself is more than likely not since it proves to be of little significance or importance. show me where somebody used that study in order to replicate that journals with a nice "al." right at the end of the study indicating it was including The New England Journal of Medicine. either way if you have a premise of the vitamin intake of alcohol as really your only premise then your article is weak as hell if not entirely irrelevant because i could list MANY more VALID AND SOUND premises that come to a morally correct conclusion. i am atheist and a former drinker.......wow how horrible of me being one of experience and being around those of whom still consume to have a firmer understanding of the issue. if i didn't drink you would be ragging on me for being a non-drinker ever. grasping at straws my friend.

Jeff, is it evil to have wine as part of a religious ceremony?

exactly, and somehow he's incapable of realizing that not everyone that drinks is a drunken fool. There are hundreds of million of responsible drinkers out there, including the majority of drinkers in entire countries.

I rarely consume alcohol, do not agree with going out to get drunk, and have a family history of alcoholism... so I'm well aware of those dangers. But none of those issues make alcohol wrong. The abuse of alcohol is wrong, not the drink.

If I go nuts and consume 30 cans of Mountain Dew a day, it's going to have negative side effects. If I have 1 can a day, and I brush my teeth soon afterwards... I'll be just fine.

It's the same with alcohol, sugar, butter, intercourse, running, etc. If I don't stop myself after a guarded amount, it can have bad consequences.

i love how you desperately have no logical explanation, vast misinterpretation, and grasping straws by going to insults instead of anything relevant......keep it up i'm lovin it.
