Akak, your Dad sounds like a stand up guy to me. And of course a nut never falls far from the tree.:) Going through some hard times myself with my Mom. She has an inoperable brain tumor and this will more than likely be our last Christmas with her. It is especially hard because we are expected our first child next month. She will never know how great a grandmother she has. Took a lot of guts to put your thoughts about your Dad out there. Especially when the usual suspects are always on the lookout for personal feelings to bash on. Just know that he has the best seats in the house now and like others have said, all disagreements are petty when you realize at the end of the day that you loved each other. God Bless you and your family. :oh:

Hey, very sorry to hear about your Mom... and... yeah... I have a little girl, who really won't remember her Grandfather except for what I tell her... In a lot of ways that's been the worst part of this... sorry for everyone who has to be/been in that situation.

We are naming our girl after my mom. She can't talk very well anymore, but when we told her that... she didn't have to. I am hoping that when she gets older she will ask about her namesake, that way I can tell her all the great things about her grandmother. I truly hope you do the same with your little one.

Yeah... "encourage" was probably not a precise description. I guess what they said was that they were glad that they did...

Anyway... thanks to everyone for their kind words on this thread, via PM... rep comment or otherwise. I appreciate everyone's thoughts.
