Wow, aren't we putting the cart before the proverbial horse here? I saw the "silent commit" rumors too but we need to wait and see how his rather lengthy visit schedule unfolds before going totally BANANAS. He has a return trip to UGa and remember they only have 4 or 5 (all 5 stars of course) RBs committed so they're hungry (insert sarcasm font here).

Donovan Edwards, Buckeyes complete ‘great’ visit

Ohio State’s need for a dominant, game-changing running back in the class of 2021 is going to be discussed until National Signing Day. So, as the Buckeyes hosted elite West Bloomfield (Mich.) 4-star tailback Donovan Edwards, there was plenty of intrigue. Edwards seemingly has narrowed his school list down to a few select programs, and the Buckeyes made the cut. Now, they’re hoping to eventually secure a pledge from one of the country’s top ball-carriers.

Birm has some details that came out of that visit between Ohio State and Donovan Edwards. Part of that is here:

The thing is, there’s almost no circumstance where a player of Edwards caliber has a “bad” time during a campus visit, so it’s unsurprising that one Ohio State source told Lettermen Row that the Friday visit “went great.” He’s been to Columbus for a half-dozen visits over the last few years, and the relationship between Edwards and the Ohio State staff remains his strongest anywhere, primarily with running backs coach Tony Alford. But Ryan Day’s involvement has only made things better between the two sides. It’s a comprehensive approach by the Buckeyes — one free of any pressure about committing — with one goal: make sure Edwards and his family have no doubt he will be developed on and off the field at Ohio State and that the risk of leaving his home-state school behind for its bitter rival is worth the reward.

The Buckeyes desperately need an elite running back in the 2021 class. They aren’t just recruiting Edwards. They’re also in a great position with North Carolina 4-star back Evan Pryor and others. As everything unfolds, Birm will have comprehensive coverage.
