Does Your Spouse Like Sports?

I'm very lucky, my wife is a huge sports fan especially football. She is more into pro football and I am more into college football. She also likes golf and we plan to go to all the tournaments some day.

By default my daughter grew up having football on all weekend. Which, I think is why she is considering changing her major from Biology to Broadcast Journalism (to be a sports reporter).
Seeing your avatar reminded me that my wife and I first broke the ice with each other quoting Monty Python to each other. We saw Michael Palin in London last summer and recently saw John Cleese on his Alimony Tour. We'd like to see Terry Jones too but neither of us are that hot on Eric Idol.

Thanks for the clarification, you have to realize that I haven't been back to Ohio in over 20 years. Everyone I knew is either dead, has left or is too much of an asshole for me to care about.

No problem. I just don't like being called a Bucknut, or when southerners would call tOSU "O-State".

As with most women, my wife doesn't think much of Monty Python. My daughter on the other hand can quote lines from The Holy Grail. Some of my wife and my first dates were during the Kosar/Elway years and my wife was a huge Elway fan....somehow we still managed to get married...I figure if we could survive the Drive we could survive anything....

Met my eventual wife at a party in Seattle where I overheard her say "But they don't really play defense in the Pac 10..."

Turns out her grandfather was team doctor for Nebraska. Thank God they've never played the Buckeyes.

Shopping for a TV earlier, she said "get a big one so the games will look better on it."

My gift to her this year: Holiday Bowl tix for her and her dad. Hers to me: Rose Bowl tix.

Yeah... She's got questionable taste in men, as evidenced by her husband. But her priorities are in order.

My wife is on the won't bug me during Buckeye games(football and basketball), playoff penguin hockey and if the Chiefs are on in Columbus train. Then on the please help at commercials or pause the dvr to help train. If the kids are in bed and nothing mutual is on she will let me watch whatever and watch the other tv or hang there. She's also good about leaving the NCAA tourney time alone. I occasionally get the you care more about sports than anything else, but not enough to shake the system.

My wife's usually good about letting me watch whatever as she's not a TV person but if I turn on South Park she abruptly leaves the room. When Stern was on E! she used to do the same thing.

None of the girls I have dated were sports fans. I don't understand why there is also this female anti-men-watching-sports propaganda. It is like a bad thing for a girl to say about a guy if he likes "to watch the game" these days. And we don't stigmatize all of the bullshit women watch on television. We should.

My wife will watch Ohio State football with me, but when any other game is on, that's when she decides she wants the house painted, garage cleaned, carpets shampooed, etc...

She'll watch an average of 5 hours of primetime tv a night all week and do nothing around the house. Come Saturday gametime, she wants to run the farking vacuum or ask me to do it. rather irritating actually
