At ND early won't be easy at all.
At improving Northwestern before OSU will be a trap game.
scUM does have some talent, but when does it start jelling? When does a QB step up? Does one this year?
Again. I think how the schedule plays out is a big factor.
Any injuries at all could send them reeling.

Well, they just added those two new bowl games. I wonder if you still have to have the same number of wins as before to qualify, or if you can now get in with a 6-6?

Several 6 win teams have been to bowls lately, some have lost and ended up with a losing record in a 'bowl season', like UCLA last year.

The rules state that 6-win teams are eligible, as long as only 1 win is over an FCS (1-AA) team. There are also rules that bowls must take 7-win teams before they select 6-win teams, but the conference tie-ins allow 6-win teams to be selected before that comes into play.

Their schedule leaves little margin for "error". Too many tough(for them) games early will set them back. 6-6 would be quite the achievement for this year. They could look really, really ugly early on.

I'm firmly on the side of they won't go to a bowl.

Your losses look good here, but they're going to lose one of the first two games. Utah will be a very good team offensively. They return 10 starters including their top 2 backs and qb. This offense blasted UCLA 44-6 last year. I'd hardly call this an easy game. I believe the Utes gave them a good game the last time they were in town a few years back.

Game two brings in a team with the strength being the other end of the ball. Miami had a great d last year and they all return. Their lb's are better than any group in the B10 outside of Columbus, according to CFN.

I'm expecting them to lose one ofe those games.

I'm betting on 5-7 for the Weenies.

Buy!

Even though Michigan has gone through some tough times, they are still Michigan.
I can not stand the skunkerines! But they are still Michigan football.

They are always my odds on favorite for the TOILET BOWL.:osu:

Thanks. For some reason I thought you had to have 7, then I remembered back to FSU and the Emerald Bowl game being the make or break game for a winning season.

I'm surprised there are so many people expecting Michigan to not make a bowl game, and I'd be interested to see this as a poll or a vbet. True, Michigan has a couple of notable weak points and a new system to learn, but they've still got more overall talent than most of the BigTen, and a non-conference schedule in which anything less than two wins would be pretty surprising. So I agree with jwins that a 6-win UM team definitely makes a bowl game, and with jax, oh8ch, and others that, barring a complete, team-wide psychological meltdown, 6 or more wins is a virtual certainty.

Bingo. It's fun to laugh, but they are still Michigan. And, now, giving RR the benefit, coaching or motivation shouldn't be an issue.
