Fired up! Ready to go!
Charlie Weis looks like he's already gained a 5 or ten spot. Didn't we have a poll somewhere predicting this?
Are you talking about pounds or rankings?

I actually agree with NDChief. Most OSU fans seem to obsess over hating ND at an unhealthy level, and I've never understood why.

Then ND fell off of the face of the earth, and came back one season and made a decent run at season end. Here come those same idiots again claiming national prominence when they disappeared for a decade. They got pasted (600+ yards of offense for the victor; don't remember who it was, though) in last year's Fiesta, and for some reason they come in ranked #2 (#1 in several) only to lose to a preseason flub (Michigan) and should have lost to a team (Michigan State) that was shellacked by a basketball school (Illinois) this past Saturday. They don't deserve any type of respect, yet Domer Boy consistently demands it. And not only that, the media GIVES it to them (still underserved). Yet nearly every year, our beloved get shunned by the media until we prove it. That is why everyone hates ND.

Well, I have been to South Bend numerous times as I have family who live there and in neighboring Mishawaka. Despite what you claim, it actually is a very nice city--I could easily live there. In addition, I have visited the campus several times and it is easily one of the most scenic one's you will find in the midwest. Yes, it is a lot more quiet than Ohio State's campus, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
I hear all the time about these annoying ND fans, but yet I have never met them. Most of the ND fans I know either have ties to the school or are Catholics who happen to like football. Maybe you are just anti-papist and that is the real problem! :tongue2:
As for their fans demanding respect, who cares? Lots of schools' fans demand respect they don't deserve--big deal. I find ignoring them is usually the best tactic.
As for issues of the media, that is a legitimate gripe of which I completely agree. However, what the media does isn't really ND's fault, they just take advantage of it, just as any other school would.
Again, I'm not a ND fan, nor am I an apologist for the school. In fact, with Weis in town I hope they lose every single game (w/ exception of scUM). However, I don't see why OSU fans hate them so much considering we don't really have much of a history with the school. What, we've played them 5 times in our history and 3-0 against them in the modern era. Who cares about them?? Until the media screws someone out of a national championship appearance because of their infactuation with ND, I say the best policy is just to ignore them.

There have a couple of other years that arguably better teams lost out to ND in the final polls (73 & 77 stand out the most).
How about the number of questionable ND heisman winners?
Hornung, Lattner & Huarte etc

Debate the argument grad.
