Tibor, don't think for a second that I would put BBH in the same class as you. BBH is a man and I respect him.

Now it has come down to some attempt to butter me up. Just add me to your ignore list and carry on.

Rest assured, I will not put you on my ignore list. I need to know where you are so I can continue to ding you.

Ditto for me.

I actually agree with NDChief. Most OSU fans seem to obsess over hating ND at an unhealthy level, and I've never understood why.

I think everyone hates ND who isn't an Irish fan. Why? Back in the day when they were a good team, a perennial title contender, fans jumped on the bandwagon (reference: Dallas Cowboys Fan, SF 49ers Fan, Duke Basketball Fan, New York Yankee Fan, Atlanta Brave Fan) and couldn't shut their yap about how sweet ND was even thought they'd only followed "their" team for a year or two. OSU Fan is commonly a local to Central Ohio yet ND Fan is no where near South Bend. Ever been to South Bend? It sucks, and no one lives there.

Then ND fell off of the face of the earth, and came back one season and made a decent run at season end. Here come those same idiots again claiming national prominence when they disappeared for a decade. They got pasted (600+ yards of offense for the victor; don't remember who it was, though) in last year's Fiesta, and for some reason they come in ranked #2 (#1 in several) only to lose to a preseason flub (Michigan) and should have lost to a team (Michigan State) that was shellacked by a basketball school (Illinois) this past Saturday. They don't deserve any type of respect, yet Domer Boy consistently demands it. And not only that, the media GIVES it to them (still underserved). Yet nearly every year, our beloved get shunned by the media until we prove it. That is why everyone hates ND.

Well, I have been to South Bend numerous times as I have family who live there and in neighboring Mishawaka. Despite what you claim, it actually is a very nice city--I could easily live there. In addition, I have visited the campus several times and it is easily one of the most scenic one's you will find in the midwest. Yes, it is a lot more quiet than Ohio State's campus, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I hear all the time about these annoying ND fans, but yet I have never met them. Most of the ND fans I know either have ties to the school or are Catholics who happen to like football. Maybe you are just anti-papist and that is the real problem! :tongue2:

As for their fans demanding respect, who cares? Lots of schools' fans demand respect they don't deserve--big deal. I find ignoring them is usually the best tactic.

As for issues of the media, that is a legitimate gripe of which I completely agree. However, what the media does isn't really ND's fault, they just take advantage of it, just as any other school would.

Again, I'm not a ND fan, nor am I an apologist for the school. In fact, with Weis in town I hope they lose every single game (w/ exception of scUM). However, I don't see why OSU fans hate them so much considering we don't really have much of a history with the school. What, we've played them 5 times in our history and are 3-0 against them in the modern era. Who cares about them?? Until the media screws someone out of a national championship appearance because of their infactuation with ND, I say the best policy is just to ignore them.

Count me in as a Hater!!

I may be in the minority on this though, I actually enjoy when they are good. Don't get me wrong, I want them to loose every game, but you can really savor the hate much more when they are good, (or perceived to be good) than when they suck. I guess it really does come down to their fans. When they are good and all the "knowledgable" fans come out of the woodwork, it makes me feel so good inside to see them explain defeat.

Alabama - 1966 (Sparty didn't even get a co-championship)

There have a couple of other years that arguably better teams lost out to ND in the final polls (73 & 77 stand out the most).

How about the number of questionable ND heisman winners?

Hornung, Lattner & Huarte etc

So, do you remember watching those teams and players play on Saturdays? From what experience are you saying that those teams and players were not worthy?

Ahh so only first hand accounts are now of merit?

Debate the argument grad.

How can I, when I don't have the information to do so? I didn't see these players and teams because they were before my time. My point is that you don't have the information to properly make such evaluations either. Maybe ND didn't deserve these titles, maybe they did. I can't really say, and I don't believe you can either?

Anyway, this is really beyond the original argument, which is to say why are OSU fans obsessed with hating ND? Because the media loves them more than us? What does that say about us as fans?
