Defensive tidbits
A few quick notes from this morning's interview session with defensive coordinator Jim Heacock:
--- Incoming freshman defensive lineman Willie Mobley will sit out the year with a shoulder injury that Heacock said he may have had from high school.
That means OSU will not have two scholarship players from Minnesota suiting up on the same field....when James Laurinaitis was signed in 2005, it was the first scholarship player from Minnesota to play at Ohio State since Sid Gillman in the 1930s. Mobley was the second.
If it's true this was an existing injury, then that's the second freshman to be victimized by a high-school shoulder injury (offensive tackle Mike Adams had surgery in the spring and hopes to play this season).
