Willie says he will visit Minnesota one more time before announcing his choice. He is likely to visit this week.

I think his visit to Minnesota has more to do with the fact he wants to tell them his intentions in person ...whatever they may be :wink2:

Remember...good kids are not going to leave a staff hanging, and Willie, from all accounts, is good kid.

Mobley one of few top uncommitted players left
Minnesota DE has toyed with idea of committing to Ohio State
RECRUITING NOTEBOOK

updated 5:09 p.m. ET, Wed., Nov. 7, 2007
Eden Prairie (Minn.) strongside defensive end Willie Mobley is one of the few top uncommitted players left in the Midwest.

However, he may remain uncommitted for long.

"I went to Ohio State this weekend,? Mobley said. ?It was real good. I hung out with some of the players and went out to eat like three times. We did a lot of things. We checked out the academic center. We did everything. We toured the whole campus. It was great. It was just crazy to see 105,000 people screaming. I had never seen something like that before.?

Mobley said he has toyed with possibly going ahead and committing after he talks things over with his family this week. There was even talk on Monday that he might be ready to join the Buckeyes? commitment list, but Mobley said he?s not quite ready yet.

"I plan on taking a few more trips still, but I?m talking things over with my family and it?s possible I could still commit,? he said. ?I'd like to go to Wisconsin for a visit. After that I don't really know, maybe Tennessee or Oklahoma.

Sounds like he's not as close to committing as people are saying.

Disagree. Based on all the premium info form the boards I think he has committed and is going to announce it after his visit to Minnesota. I think he is giving the hometown school a visit as a show of goodwill and respect.

What "people are saying" is from sources very close to the situation...I trust that over an article from a national news outlet every day of the week.

The Prairie

Even the parents of football players at EP say he is going to OSU and has committed. One of them, with whom I work, voluntarily stated that WM committed; and this guy is as far away from a web recruiting junkie as you can get.

If and when he officially announces, we'll post it here...

Where do people think Mobley will end up?

I am thinking he starts at DE but could end up playing a bit of both later in his career similar to David Patterson.

On a somewhat related note, does it seem like OSU seems to start some of their future DTs at DE to get them to focus on quickness? It's happened with guys like Worthington, Patterson and others. I am pretty sure we do something similar with our safeties as Coleman and Whitner started at CB to work on coverage and then moved to safety and I expect that Clifford will make the same move next year.
