'Django Unchained' Actress detained and cuffed

As an African American man, it pisses me off when some fool ass claims racism when they were doing wrong in the first damn place. It affects the true victims of racism and bigotry by lessening their claims. It deadens us to the cry of actual oppression when it is truly there.
Racism is a serious problem that requires serious action. Unfortunately, the accusation is also a very shiny double-edged weapon - one side magically shifts responsibility for one's actions to bystanders, and the other delivers a devastating blow to someone's reputation with no requirement of actual offense and nearly no possibility of an effective defense. It's a tempting weapon for someone without honor, though gender works pretty effectively, too, and a number of other general categories will do in a pinch.

Best we can do is teach kids that bearing false witness is a serious thing, to always try to get the whole story, to take personal responsibility themselves, and to support those with real cases of mistreatment and shun those with fake ones.

That is what parents and schools are teaching today... right?

Or maybe we need to start going double-time on building that spaceship.

Well, I'd say after those pics and listening to the audio, not only is she a liar - but literally asked to be arrested. She got caught, tried to pull the race card and fame story, argued to the bitter end. There's really no way you can be in her corner at this point.
To steal a line from Full Metal Jacket, if they weren't assholes like her, there's be no racism in the world.

Except when it's not.

So, all white cops are out to get the Negro. Funny how the audio drops out for about 20 seconds before the cop takes off and pulls up to the dude's vehicle...you know, like "suspect is driving a blanket-blank and suspected to be armed and dangerous". Still, this cop did shit totally wrong from what I saw...

Jesus Christ. The guy was shot for obeying. It's not about hate. It's that the cop is so fucking scared he overreacts.

Like this guy, in Ohio. Shot dead in the blink of an eye for holding a fake gun in a store that sells real guns, in an open carry state.

I've not heard a thing about this story. So just going from your post right to the video footage, I saw a guy holding a gun, standing in a store - one specific area of a store for a lengthy period of time.

I thought that was highly suspicious and or dangerous before I read the article.

It looks like he was fucking walking all over the store with it in his hand. Nope, nothing suspicion-arousing about a guy walking all around a Walmart with something looking like a rifle...

Man, do I appreciate this comment. There are too many cases of genuine racism still in our nation to let dumbasses off the hook when they cry "racist" when the problem is something else altogether.

For a long time I've thought that toolsheds like Al Sharpton cause more problems relative to race relations than they could ever know. I don't question their motivation, just the effect of their words and actions. Frustrating.
